Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include database installs, upgrades, patching, security, troubleshooting and issue
resolution, backup procedures, and performance tuning
Implement backup and recovery processes
Optimize query performance.
Perform database health checks
Plan and perform the database upgrades.
Perform maintenance
Work closely with the application team to understand changes planned, perform an impact analysis, and
provide feedback.
Automate deployment.
Troubleshoots and resolves issues
Due to the 24x7 operations of the business must be able to work a flexible work schedule, which may
include nights, weekends, holidays, emergency escalations, etc.
Consults and troubleshoots different technologies and understands how they interact together
(MongoDB, Hadoop, Redis, Elasticsearch, etc.)
Tests and approves future product version releases
Required Skills:
2+ years hands-on database administration experience, preferably MongoDB.
Strong scripting experience - Unix/Shell Scripting, Python
Technical knowledge of Linux & Windows-based platforms
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve issues quickly and effectively
Ability to make appropriate decisions considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions
Excellent understanding of MongoDB database concepts and structures
Excellent knowledge of MongoDB HA architecture
Excellent understanding of MongoDB database performance tuning skills
Nice to Haves:
2+ years of experience with MongoDB either as a DBA or Developer
Exposure to Redis and/or Elasticsearch is a plus.
Proven experience implementing and supporting enterprise database systems
Proven experience managing MongoDB database configurations
Excellent understanding of Linux operating system
Education:
Bachelors degree in a related field of software development, database
