Job Description - Senior Software/Release/DevOps Engineer
The Challenge
Adobe is looking for a senior engineer who is passionate about software application
build/test/release infrastructure and helping accelerate engineering velocity of our
world class products such as Photoshop and Lightroom. CI-CD and automation in the area of software application build and test and release. You will be playing a key
role in directly influencing engineering productivity across organization which will
accelerate the velocity of software delivery of our world class products including
Photoshop and Lightroom.
As a member of the team, you will work with Software Engineers and Computer
Scientists to ensure our services and products seamlessly move from development
through release into our Creative Cloud and Mobile stores and to the end customer.
This requires Design and development of any and every phase of the delivery
pipeline, with an eye for Accuracy, Scalability and Speed. Using your leadership and
technical expertise, you manage small project teams and lead the complex
application software product releases for production and develop major
improvement to tools and processes.

What you'll do

• Develop and implement new build technologies, practices and methods.
• Contribute to the Adobe Common Build Framework, adding new surfaces and functions including highly complex software build compilation, packaging, validation and the archive and release procedures for hundreds of platforms and surfaces.
• Research and pilot new technologies that enhance the development compile environments, seek out techniques to move the team toward new heights in build technology
• Own and continually improve the software applications and tools that run our production and CI pipelines.
• Port legacy Jenkins pipelines to our new technology and help teams adopt common practices and methods.
• Develop and support the Microsoft/Android/iOS/PC/MAC/Linux build and release pipelines and ecosystems
• Integrate and test new versions of Visual Studio, xcode, iOS SDK and Android SDK
• Automate everything you touch!

What you need to succeed

• BA/BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in software engineering, release development and/or configuration management.
• Extensive knowledge of the Linux, Windows, MAC, iOS, and Android Platforms
• Extensive experience supporting high volume desktop and mobile development teams
• Extensive experience using Jenkins in an enterprise, Pipeline is a plus
• Extensive experience managing branches and usage of GIT, Perforce or other SCM tools
• Strong experience in developing applications/solutions using python, groovy, shell scripts etc
• Strong experience integrating builds with common Testing Tools such as selenium, boost, google test, good robot and etc
• Deep experience with compilers and compile technologies including caching (ccache, sccache, gradle cache clcache etc), distributed builds (ice cream, distcc, incredibuild, electric Accelerator, gcc, make, ninja etc)
• Experience in Ansible/Chef/Puppet/Salt/WKSP1 or any other configuration management & provisioning systems.
• Experience with Virtualization systems - VMWare, Docker or other container management system
• Proficient in Groovy, Java and/or Objective-C
• Knowledge of Jenkins plug-in creation
• Leadership experience a plus
