US MNC : Product Manager (Growth Products) @ Mumbai / Remote

Our US client is a global supplier of Sensing & Control Solutions. They design & manufacture a broad portfolio of Sensors & allied products.

Sensors find applications in Renewable Energy, Food & Beverage, HVAC / Boiler Control, Marine, Medical, Oil & Gas, Power Generation, Printing, Process Tank Level Gauging, Semiconductors, Specialty & Off-Highway Vehicles, Transportation (Train & Rail), Water & Wastewater Processing

  • Position Report to Product Management Leader
  • Supervises Travel Frequency (%) : 5-10% India

Purpose of Position

The Product Manage Growth Products will be responsible for driving an innovative agenda for the profitable growth of a product portfolio in the Growth Products team. The Product Manager will be the General Manager of the product, responsible for all aspects from market strategy development / competitive assessments to multi-generational product plan development & product lifecycle management, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams. This role has responsibilities for setting high organizational standards, leading/working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, & periodically reporting out findings to leadership.


Education & Experience

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, Economics or similar
  • Minimum 5 + years of relevant experience in Strategy Consulting, Product Management / Marketing, preferably in the Engineering Domain
  • Demonstrated success in New Product Launch / New Market Entry
  • Strong presentation & data analytics skills
  • Strategic thinking ability
  • Self-starter who can effectively set priorities, manage time, & continually drive work forward
  • Highly collaborative, including the ability to work across teams/divisions & time zones
  • Comfortable with ambiguity

Essential Functions

  • Develop & maintain a strategic product plan, go-to-market strategy & business plan
  • Perform market analysis, market sizing, competitive analysis, SWOT analysis, &/or opportunity analysis
  • Develop customer segmentation, define key early adopters & influencers & develop product messaging appropriate for each
  • Define portfolio/solution strategy with sustainable differentiation; define the multi-generational product roadmap & actively manage a portfolio
  • Engage customers, potential customers, industry experts & others to validate business cases, support design inactivity, define next-generation solutions as needed
  • Present analysis & suggestions for new product initiatives to senior management
  • Develop & execute your Go to Market plan that will engage the commercial organizations in helping you drive market success.
  • Work with product marketing to develop content & messaging to be used for collateral development, competitive positioning, Sales training, Partner enablement, & corporate marketing.
  • Develop & deliver field & sales training around solutions meeting the needs of the global regions, partner segments & customer base.
  • Accurately forecast the revenue, product mix, & profitability from your portfolio.
  • Set the list pricing & price escalation rules for your solutions in line with your strategic business plan / go-to-market.
  • Set expectations for yourself & your team & employ Business Systems to ensure that you are tracking to your objectives.
  • May be assigned additional projects & responsibilities at the sole discretion of the Head of Product Growth

Location, Work Space & Hours

  • This role is remote. '
  • Should have reliable internet connectivity, access to a workspace conducive to participating in video & audio meetings,
  • The company generally operates on standard work hours in the Eastern US time zone.
  • Should be comfortable & be available during a portion of those hours.(Working partially on US hours)

  • Have you done market & competitive analysis (for example, analyzing market share for different products or competitors)?
  • Have you performed voice of customer research (talking live to customers to understand problems they face, evaluate product features, etc)?
  • Have you worked on new product development/launch?
  • Do you have experience in presenting strategic plans, product recommendations, or other similar concepts to leadership? (Do you have experience in making recommendations & defending the concept rather than just presenting data)
