Senior Engineer, Software Development (Java) @ Landis+Gyr

Key Purpose of Role:

• This role should have extensive experience in Java methodologies. Technically mentoring the team, coordinating the domain related activity.
• The role includes design, development, engineering and post release support of technical solutions.
• The role will guide design engineers to develop the customer requirements..

Areas of Responsibility / Tasks:

• Design, Develop And Maintain Applications For A Large-Scale Amr/Ami System Using Java/J2EE Technologies On Unix And Windows Platform
• To create specifications based on certain requirements and to kick-start project based on these requirements and formulate a team.
• Ownership of deliverables, starting from client interview till delivery of the product .
• Involvement In Software Development Life-Cycle Activities (requirement gathering, elaboration, solicit clarification, WBS, Estimations, documentation).
• Participate In System Analysis And Troubleshooting . Design And Development Of Mixed Platform Enterprise-Level Applications
• To participate in technical project reviews to debottleneck technical issues/ challenges to help the engineering teams to meet the project deadlines.
• To handle operational problems, solving problems, identifying scopes of improvements and prevention of it.
• To establish methodologies, standards and procedures for requirements analysis, project plan preparation, procedure development and execution, documentation of results and reporting.
• Work With The Network Operations Center And Sqa Teams To Replicate Field Issues Document, Train And Support Operations And Software Quality Assurance Teams
• Perform Code Reviews. Install And Configure Application Server (Jboss, Apache Tomcat,Etc), Development Environments, Other System Elements Expeditiously
• Read And Understand Both Requirements (Use Cases) And Architecture Documents (UML) . Accurately Estimate Work Effort And Complete Assignments On Schedule
• Database Design and Maintainence.
• To plan, manage and deliver projects on-time with the agreed quality and cost. Accurately estimate work effort and Complete assignments on schedule
• To interact with the Global teams, Ability to work cross-functionally with both internal and external teams as well as with functional business leaders.
• Identify the quality KPI s and ensure the compliance at each stage.
