The ABBYY Lead, FDSS Center of Excellence, Asia Pacific, is a newly constituted role in a major transformation program underway at Dimension Data Asia Pacific. We are in the midst of setting up a next generation finance shared services center that involves digitisation of its finance business processes and leveraging the facilities of a shared services operator. In this role the incumbent will lead the cutting edge of machine learning through the use of cognitive software AbbYY in the Center of Excellence (CoE). This role will report directly to the Head of Finance Shared Services Center of Excellence, Asia Pacific and will be responsible to be the trusted advisor and person-on-point on all matters pertaining to the cognitive technology enablers powering the shared services operations. The position requires the person to be in close proximity of the shared services operator, who is based in a suburb of New Delhi, India.
Dimension Data Asia Pacific is automating select finance processes by leveraging state-of-the-art technologies spanning robotics process automation (RPA), cognitive optical character recognition (OCR) and a custom workflow tool for exception handling. The scope will be about a dozen business processes, with varying levels of automation, and for all countries where Dimension Data operates in the Asia Pacific region. The transformation involves moving the workloads from the countries into a shared services center operation run by a legal entity within the larger holding company. There is a potential to extend this transformation across a larger global footprint after successful transition and operations of the current shared services scope.
This person will be involved in the ongoing transformation for knowledge transfer with continuous improvement through the use of the cognitive software. This role requires coordination with the countries within the Asia Pacific organisation.
The end outcome expected is tight governance of the shared services operation provided by the operator, and having a structured approach to issue resolution. It is vital to run and continually improve the technology in the shared services operations within internal client expectations of availability, performance, agility, security and regulatory compliance.
The AbbYY Lead must play a pivotal role in the lifecycle.
Understand the vision, plan, processes, and technology enablers of the ongoing project.
Play the lead cognitive software and negotiation on technology enablers.
Ensure efficient and effective transition of operations from the countries to the operator.
Leverage the finance & IT experts in headquarters for direction and be a sounding board.
Govern the steady state operations to deliver contracted SLA for Tier 1-2-3 support.
Able to get hands-on in the event of major incidents and escalations to restore normalcy.
Look for opportunities for improvement of the operation, and conceptualise, plan and budget.
Effective program management to execute all approved technology improvement programs.
Provide accurate and periodic updates of the status operation based on key metrics.
The CoE will start off with a core team comprising the head of CoE and a technology leader in the CoE, with other members who can support them joining within a short period thereafter; and in the interim the core team should be able to be hands on in the lifecycle activities to be clear the core team needs managers with the ability to play individual performer roles in a short interim it is not a pure manager role.
Required Candidate profile
The ideal candidate has a strong IT background, with good appreciation of technology enablers including ERP, robotics process automation, cognitive OCR and workflow tools, IT management and governance frameworks.
The candidate must ideally have a degree in computing but could be candidates with other qualifications but the right experience.
A minimum of 5 years experience in IT operations and at least 2 years with AbbYY or similar cognitive software.
Intermediate / advanced experience with ABBYY Flexicapture 12 stations & servers (release 1 and above) and AbbYY Invoice Module.
a. Good understanding of project setup station (import profiles, batch types, user roles, stage tools, export settings)
b. Good understanding of document definitions and invoice module (rules, scripting, field properties, export settings)
c. Good understanding of FlexiLayout studio (basic elements, repeating groups, flexilayout language, fuzzy logic)
d. Good understanding of verification station (queues, user roles)
e. Basic understanding of monitoring server (reporting, account creation)
f. Basic understanding of licensing server (limitations)
g. Basic understanding of processing server & ABBYY setup (setup of ABBYY processing servers & relation to CPU cores)
h. Understands integration of ABBYY stations & servers
i. Familiar with navigating ABBYY help
j. Able to design ABBYY architecture around a set of requirements
k. Basic experience with VBScript
l. Basic understanding of infrastructure setup (servers & virtual
machines)
