Inviting applications for the role of Report Writer
As a report writer, you will apply your deep expertise in Cognos reporting and the associated OpenPages framework to define, design, and implement customised reports for Visa.
You will listen to customer requirements and use best practice to ensure reports are written efficiently considering performance and usability. You may also provide skills transfer to clients, helping them to understand OpenPages out of the box reporting capabilities and how to create customised reports.
Responsibilities
Be a trusted Advisor of the Visa Corporate Risk Technology and Platforms teams
Work as part of a project team to deliver OpenPages solutions to customers
Gather and document Customer reporting requirements for OpenPages
Produce reporting design specification documents
Design and develop Metadata Models in Framework Manager on top of OpenPages
Develop reports per agreed specifications
Ensure that the maximum capability of IBM Cognos Analytics product is used
Provide customers with advice and guidance on report optimisation and performance considerations
Provide effort estimates for report creation and work with customer and project manager to provide input to project plan
Share knowledge with IBM colleagues and provide input to asset and knowledge sharing repositories
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Relevant experience
Relevant experience of Cognos Analytics
Relevant experience in database application programming (SQL, PL/SQL and SQL PL), database administration and performance tuning on DB2 for LUW or Oracle is required
Experience building software for SaaS and Continuous Delivery Techniques is desirable
Experience with troubleshooting internal or external customer environments
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic development environment
Demonstrates verbal and written communications skills
Demonstrates strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
Creative approach to problem solving, innovation and issue resolution
Superior interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate actively and proactively with others in a cross-functional team
Readiness to travel
Master level Domain Knowledge of at least 3 domains
Preferred qualifications
GRC Domain experience
Demonstrates proactive communication skills and have collaboration experience
Experience with Analytics, Business Intelligence tools (Cognos) is desirable
Experience with Cloud Pak for Data / Redhat OpenShift is desirable
Knowledge of the agile software development cycle
Experience with Shell scripts and Linux OS is desirable
Knowledge of financial application/industry is an asset
Exceptional attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering under tight time constraints
