Job Description
Responsibilities:
Purchases lab supplies using internal systems (PO#) and web-based ordering systems (FisherFast & Grand & Toy) ensuring adequate inventory of chemicals, solvents, standards, office supplies etc.
Receives and distributes supplies in a timely manner (reconcile, log, label & stock lab supplies).
Performs lab housekeeping as required including but not limited to filling paper towel/soap dispensers, organizing supply storage areas, balance room cleaning, etc.
Responsible for the identification, removal and destruction of all expired solvents and reagents used in the QC Lab.
Collects pharmaceutical waste from the laboratories and associated responsibilities (e.g. removing aqueous and flammable waste from the flasks, performing the first rinse, preparing the waste jugs for collection).
Prepares mobile phase, dissolution medium and diluents for Chemists.
Keeps mobile phase preparation/kitting area organized.
Provides back-up for the QC Coordinator, including receiving and logging of lab samples etc.
Maintains MSDS/COA hard copies.
Responsible for collecting used glassware, sorting by size, cleaning (automated washer units and/or manually when required), drying and returning to designated storage locations throughout the QC and PDS labs. Maintaining organized glassware storage cupboards. Monitors glassware inventory removing poor quality items and reordering as necessary.
