Requisite Technical Skills and Experience:
- Strong understanding of the design and architecture of Ruby on Rails applications.
- Solid Object Oriented Architecture and Programming understanding.
- Strong experience in MVC architecture.
- Experience in developing multi-tier web based applications.
- Understanding of scalability challenges with Ruby and Rails.
- Strong scripting skills in Ruby
- Strong knowledge of:
- Ruby, Ruby on Rails
- HTML, HAML, CSS, SASS
- Relational Databases
- Coffee script, SLIM, SCSS, Compass, Bootstrap
- Source code management (GitHub, Subversion, PVCS, etc.)
- OS: Ubuntu
- Ability to translate documented requirements into UI and backend development using Embedded Ruby (ERB), HTML, CSS, JQUERY, JavaScript, ROR, AngularJS and RESTful API.
- PL SQL Development, MySQL / Postgres and some RESTful API, Web service development experience.
- Understanding of service-oriented architecture (SOA) and REST.
- Maintain Ruby on Rails code. Implement upgrades, patches, code releases and database changes.
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrated experience with the software development life cycle (SDLC) and associated tools
- Involved in requirements gathering, design and analysis, development, and quality assurance of the overall deliveries.
- Follow best practices (test-driven development, continuous integration, SCRUM, refactoring, code standards)
- Support bug-fixing and troubleshooting application errors and exceptions on different environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate in a clear and succinct manner.
- Drive continuous adoption and integration of relevant new technologies into design.
- Design and work on solutions architectures
- Pro-actively figure out methods to make the technical solution better based on business needs.
- Learn about new technologies and implement solutions in those technologies.
- Collaborate and coordinate the work with development team
- Good communication skills.
