Role Overview:
Provide the necessary vision and leadership for the fundraising and communications function, which will enable the organisation to achieve its funding goals & enable the organization to achieve its vision.
The individual needs to have substantial fundraising, donor management and communications experience. Has a proven track record of building relationships and sourcing funds from foundations, trusts, corporate CSR and retail. Lead a team of fund raising and communications professionals.
Roles and responsibilities:
Resource Mobilization
Head the fundraising function at the organisation.
Formulate an effective strategy for fund raising with the leadership team. Develop plans to achieve annual funding targets across the portfolio of funding categories (International Donors, Corporate CSR, HNIs, Retail, etc.)
Identify new potential funding categories and organisations, and develop strategies to convert them into donors for the organisation
Develop high quality grant proposals, donor proposals and reports.
Manage the end to end donor management process
Maintain and nurture existing relationships and constantly expand current network of donors by tapping into local organizations, foundations, HNI's and foreign corporations
Manage all day-to-day activities that contribute to mobilization of resources, including brand building, communication & publicity, events, merchandising and donor management
Manage the fundraising team to deliver the targets planned
Communication:
Develop the communications strategy for the organisation with the leadership team. Develop a robust plan to implement the strategy
Responsible for managing donor communications to deliver an effective and transparent donor engagement experience
Establish and drive a multi-channel communications strategy for the organisation
Responsible for managing public relations.
Manage and enhance presence of the organisation at events and conferences
Create budgets for communications and ensure compliance
Manage the communications team
Skills & Experience:
Should have a masters degree or above from a reputed institute
Should have excellent, proven conceptual skills
Should have excellent written communication and oral communication skills
Should have prior experience in donor management
Should have good stake holder management skill
Should have independently managed the communication function
