Software Development Engineer-android @ McAfee

We re looking for a product-driven Senior Android Engineer with a strong appreciation for great design not only in products and visual presentation, but also in code and technical architecture. In this role you will collaborate cross-functionally with product design, marketplace ops, analytics and more to ensure a solid end-to-end strategy and execution. Role Overview

The Mcafee Digital Secure team is hiring a Senior Android developer to help us build private, secure and beautifully designed Android apps that are used by over 20M people around the world. Through the Digital Secure Android app and our Android SDK, we allow millions of devices to protect their devices by providing services like secure VPN, safe browsing, application privacy etc. The team is passionate about building the best user experiences while also making sure all our apps are secure. With a dedicated team, were finally thinking about dependency injection, unit tests, writing documentation and how to achieve our features and apps faster and more reliably.

While we build new features in Kotlin and maintain old Java code, we do dedicate some time to Kotlinfy java code. We pad ourselves in the back about our low crash-free sessions rate but we really take pride when 0 important issues are found during third-party audits on our apps.

About the Role:

• Be a part of a small but nimble team expanding the mobile endpoint security experience
• Use product requirements and technical designs to write well-engineered, robust code
• Contribute to the design of the application architecture and its constituent software components
• Work with team to troubleshoot, debug, and fix issues in production and non-production environments
• Contribute to the innovation, data, design, critique, and continual improvement of the app
• Keep up to date with the latest capabilities and features of each Android release

About You

• A minimum of 5+ years of industry experience in Android development, and proven industry experience of shipping Android software products.
• Domain knowledge and experience of software development on the Android system, and have worked with multiple area of Android SDK.
• Proficiency in Java and Kotlin programming to write clean and well structured code.
• Experience with IDEs, source code management, unit testing, code review, issue tracking, and performance analysis tools.
• Ability to communicate technical ideas clearly and effectively.
• BS minimum in the areas of Computer Science, Computer engineering, Electrical engineering or other related fields
• A breadth of technical skills and know how to use the right tool for the job
• A positive can-do attitude and bring a passion for excellence to the workplace
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills
