Sr. Site Reliability Engineer - Adobe Experience Platform

Our team is responsible for Adobe Experience Platform that is uniquely poised to offer its services to build solutions to bring the delightful experience and intelligence in a far superior way which otherwise would not have been to manage and bring value to our customers. The Experience Platform provides state-of-the-art capabilities for data integration, data governance, advanced analytics and machine learning services.
Building a robust fault tolerant and highly available system at very high scale while providing ease and convenience to disparate solutions and enterprise customer team is a key to our success. We use Big Data, Open source technologies and home grown solutions to develop various services for Adobe Solutions, Customers and Partners.
We support very large enterprise product to support their customers spread at a very large geography. This requires disparate data sources and ingestion mechanism. The data has to be made easily accessible at very low latency to support different scenarios and use cases. We are looking for strong candidates having deep expertise in building low latency services at very high scale. The candidates would be leading our path to accomplish our vision.
Our engineering team is responsible for the Adobe Experience Platform, the foundational technology for the Adobe Experience Cloud. We help thousands of customers collect, manage and synthesise petabytes of data with high fidelity and velocity. We help them make sense of that data, glean insights and run algorithms, so they can deliver delightful experiences in real-time, every time.What you'll do
As a Sr. SRE in Adobe Experience Platform team, you'll be involved in ensuring reliable, highly available, scalable, maintainable and highly secure systems. Candidates who fit these roles come from both systems and software development background. Your development background will help you in designing large scale, highly distributed and fault tolerant applications. Your systems background will help you in ensuring the uptime and reliability through monitoring deep system parameters and remediating issues at the systems level. Your responsibility set will include:

• 
  Getting involved in application development from the inception stage and be part of itthrough design, deployment and operations.
• 
  Determining where to use Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and where to go for Platformas a Service (PaaS) for the large-scale needs of Adobe solutions and services
• 
  Developing and supporting R&D, POCs, create frameworks that enhance developer productivity
• 
  Investigate and resolve complex and multi-faceted issues, spanning the entire technologystack, which require effective collaboration across team and technology boundaries
• 
  Proactively improve key application metrics, such as up-time, application performance,time to issue resolution, time spent resolving incidents and other key operational SLAs
• 
  Drive continuous improvement to supported applications, in areas such as monitoring,operational task automation, continuous integration, deployments and performancetuning.
• 
  Apply Software Engineering mindset in service operations, to scale systems improve velocity and reliability
• 
  Practice sustainable incident response and blameless post-mortems

What you need to succeed

• 
  MS/BS in Computer Science helpful but not required
• 
  Hands on experience in Public Cloud - Azure, AWS, etc
• 
  10+ years of experience Operations and Development SaaS services
• 
  6+ years as an infrastructure architect building a large data intensive/high scale/large distributed systems and services
• 
  3+ years hands-on experience in Administering, development and debugging application on PaaS / Kubernetes
• 
  Experience in one or more of the following: Java, Go, Python, Shell.
• 
  Experience with Docker, microservices, containerised deployment and service orchestration
• 
  Familiarity with monitoring and alerting principles and tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Thanos, Zabbix. New Relic, Splunk, AppDynamics, etc.
• 
  Deep understanding of DevOps concepts like SLAs, SLOs, SLIs, error budgets, MTTR, MTTD, etc.
• 
  Plus to be a Committer or PMC Member with the Apache Software Foundation or Cloud Native Computing Framework on big data technologies, such as: Kubernetes, Spark, Hadoop, Hive, HBase, Kafka, Drill, Atlas, Impala, Taz, etc.
• 
  Preferred - recognized contributor to Open Source eco-system for big data projects highly desired
• 
  Proficiency in algorithms, data structures, complexity analysis and software design and/or expertise in Unix/Linux systems, IP networking, performance and application issues.
• 
  Management and leadership experience very helpful
