General Summary:
Looking for a Software Engineer for development of features and to provide maintenance and support services on an existing Java/JavaScript platform. Must be able to tackle difficult issues with minimal support and be comfortable working by themselves or as part of a small team. May be required to design, develop, and implement features as requested by customer. Follows approved life cycle methodologies, crafts design documents, and performs program coding and testing. Resolves technical issues through debugging, research, and investigation. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures in Java and JavaScript development. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
Duties & Responsibilities:

• Configures and maintains development, testing, and build environments for an existing full-stack application
• Resolves technical issues through debugging, research, and investigation
• Provides solutions via code changes and/or SQL statements for issues in an existing customer environment
• Designs and implements new features and bug-fixes
• Perform unit and system testing of application code as well as execution of implementation activities
• Ensures that encouraged application performance levels are achieved
• Designs, codes, tests, debugs, documents, builds, maintains, and modifies computer programs of high complexity, significance, and risk

Skills required:
Included proven proficiencies and physical, mental & Interpersonal skills.

• Java - In depth experience developing and troubleshooting applications in Java 1.7 and 1.8
• DevOps - Experience configuring and troubleshooting build and development environments and tools, including experience with Jenkins, SVN, and Gradle, or similar tools
• Self-Starter - Proven track record to take ownership of demonstrable functionality from receiving requirements, development, unit test writing through implementation with a high attention to detail
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Really Nice to have skills:

• AWS - Experience of working on AWS with knowledge of crafting Alexa skills, writing Lambda functions
• Agile - Experience as a member of an Agile development team actively participating in ceremonies to refine requirements, demonstrate functionality, and provide process improvements
• JavaScript - Experience building data intensive web applications using a modern JavaScript framework
• SQL databases - Experience with SQL database interactions using the Hibernate framework and solving issues with Oracle/MySQL
• Spring - Experience building and troubleshooting Java applications using core Spring (i.e., dependency injection etc.)
• Familiarity with set-top box platform interactions, including creation of recordings and playback

Nice to have skills:

• MongoDB
• H2
• Lucene
• Splunk

Required Skills:
Experience with SQL database interactions using the Hibernate framework and troubleshooting issues with Oracle/MySQL.
