The Role
Adobe Design, our nearly 400-person product design group, is looking for a dedicated UX Designer to join the Adobe InDesign team and help us evolve the industry-leading layout and page design software.
We work closely with business, marketing, engineering, and research to deeply understand customer needs and deliver the industry standard in tools for print and digital media. We're seeking a designer who thinks holistically and uses modern tools to evaluate concepts quickly. One who favours interactive prototypes over flat mockups, and is willing to engage in both exploration of concepts and refinement of details. One with an inquisitive personality and the dream to evolve, craft and build creative tools for the future.What You'll Do

• Communicate design ideas at various stages of the design process with wireframes, flow diagrams, storyboards, mock-ups, and/or high-fidelity prototypes.
• Work alongside other designers, product managers, engineers, and cross-functional partners, to conceptualise new features and evolve workflows to enhance the creative experience.
• Have meaningful ownership. You will make important decisions about how the product looks, feels, and behaves.

• Effectively articulate rationale, logic and research as supporting evidence for well thought through decisions.

• Coordinate multiple projects to completion, and drive adoption of user experience best practices.
• Be an advocate for the user. Partner closely with the user research team, conduct primary/secondary user research, validate design solutions, conduct quick rounds of usability testing, for incorporating results into your design process.

Must-haves
What you need to succeed

• A minimum of 3 years of industry experience in design with a proven track record of great designs and strategy that meets user needs, product requirements & business objectives.
• A formal education in design or equivalent practical experience, with an emphasis on user experience, graphic design, or a related design field.
• Passion for art, creativity, and empowering people to create.
• Ability to grasp the essence of complex design problems and translate them to practical design solutions.
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple workstreams.

• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication, and storytelling skills.

• Ability to design in a rapid iterative design process, with a focus on quality and commitment to timelines.
• Strong understanding of Adobe XD, Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch, or similar design tools.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of print and publication design workflows.
• First-hand experience in a creative field other than software design.
• Deep knowledge around and passion for accessible & inclusive design.
