Description
QA lead will be the test authority within the team. Working as part of an Agile project team, the QA Lead is fully responsible for ensuring that the testing (manual) on their project is carried out effectively, according to guidelines, best practices and the test plan. The QA Lead must be able to understand and interpret inputs from a wide variety of sources in order to produce the test plan for an increment or release of the project. The role is hands-on incorporating defining, carrying out and reporting the results of all aspects of Regression Testing/ System Testing/ Performance Testing etc.

Responsibilities:
- Have an independent view and say in quality across all teams and support the sprint planning, execution and day to day activities of automation + manual QA team to enforce expected quality. Also measure and report the corrective measures of the QAM regularly and its visible results.
- Dig into technical details of stories to ensure appropriate test coverage coming out of the dev automation. Ensure quality through monitoring a combination of manual + automation testing on day to day basis and going up to maximum automation scope by sound planning, product knowledge, identifying gaps in dev automation and planning tasks/stories to cover the gaps in subsequent sprints
- To work with business analysts, dev to define standard performance and load testing scenarios as user stories which are tightly integrated into release planning and sprints. Be a champion of the security guidelines and standards defined for the product, ensure mandatory compliance through internal/external audits, implement a review checklist for security measures and review them against check-ins.
- Technically hands-on to understand QA of web based software development environments at white box and black box levels and ensure quality through a combination of manual + automation tests and lead a small QA team.
- Develop relationships with key project stakeholders including product management, business analysis and project management
- Close collaboration with developers, architects and other team members in an agile environment
- Maintain test environments and generate test data
- Apply analytical skills and creative thinking
- Understand software architecture and operation environments
- Analyse project requirements and produce a test plan for a release or increment.
- Coordinate the testing being undertaken within the project.
- Resolve issues and blockers experienced by the test team related to the project.
- Ensure testing is carried out in a timely manner allowing project milestones to be achieved.
- Analyse and carry out all forms of testing, required to ensure solutions are of releasable quality.
- Report the progress and report of the testing activities for the project.
- Measure and report automation test coverage planned and achieved.
- Assess and report risks to releases.
Qualifications:
Bachelors in Computer Science / Engineering or related field
An experience of 10+ years in software, in Manual testing.
