Designing and carrying out experiments
Extracting DNA and RNA; using commercial kits to extract and purify DNA and RNA from animal cells, tissues, and blood
Performing Quantitative PCR (qPCR) assays independently; having excellent research proficiencies in data analysis and troubleshooting combined with skilled sample preparation for qPCR to yield consistent qPCR data
Organizing sample inventories; keeping an orderly inventory of samples in freezers
Assisting students and HQP with analyses; helping students in various molecular genomics analysis techniques and procedures to achieve correct experimental results
Recording results and preparing reports
