Software Development Engineer - Test - Chennai @ Trimble

Trimble is building its next generation cloud platform based on open source technologies that will be used by the different divisions within Trimble to host high volume services and applications. We are currently looking for an exceptional Quality Engineer for the Cloud Platform Engineering Team. The position is based out of Chennai, India.

The Senior Software Test Engineer will lead the white box testing framework and automation of Trimbles Telematics Cloud Platform testing and Centralized Profiles.

Measures of Success:

• Lead the white box testing framework/test automation tool selection process and develop automated test suites

• Review requirements, specifications, user documentation, help files, and other project documentation to assure quality of the products and tests to be developed

• Work with the Development team to capture and reuse automated test suites and with the Release Engineering team to build and deploy the automation build on QA or release or production servers

• Trace the test results on the regularly-scheduled test updates and results back to specific quality risks promptly

• Ensure proper version control and configuration management of all test objects developed and test environments used

• Provide the project test status, estimates and metrics derived from testing

• Technical Knowledge on Automation tools and framework with the ability to achieve targets

Skills & Experience Required:

• Should have at least 7+ years of experience in white box testing with 2+ years of experience leading testing effort

• Should have good understanding on the role of automated testing within the software development lifecycle

• Professional experience in creating frameworks to run performance tests (Gatling or K6.io preferred)

• Hands-on experience in programming. Java / Javascript (NodeJS) expertise is required.

• Experience with automating API/services testing.

• Hands-on experience in AWS or other cloud environments

• Good knowledge on basic Linux commands and scripting

• Good to have hands-on experience in any of the standard automation testing tools eg. Selenium / Rest Assured.

• Educational qualification - BE with relevant experience
