Job Description
As an assistant branch manager for a bank, there are several responsibilities which are typical. Hiring, training, and supervising customer service representatives and financial service manager is a major part of this position. The assistant branch manager must also fulfill duties to gain and retain customers, by heeding to the highest standards of customer service. Daily operational activities that branch managers perform include monitoring branch financial activities, performing audits, reviewing reports, and managing cash levels. Assistant branch managers also work to enforce banking regulations and oversee bank security measures. Assistant branch managers work within the banks which employ them. Co-workers include all lower level operational employees of the bank including security, tellers, personal bankers, financial advisers, etc. In addition, the assistant branch manager must work alongside the branch manager to ensure the smooth day to day operations of the bank. Communication with corporate about news, new developments, changing regulations, and other related business information are also a part of the job. Educational requirements may vary. The minimum educational requirement for this position is a high school diploma, but many banks require or prefer a four year degree. Banks tend to be somewhat lenient in the type of degree required for such positions, but finance, business, mathematics, and economics degrees are the most desirable. In lieu of a degree, managerial experience may translate well into this position. Employers typically require two to five years of managerial experience when considering applicants for assistant branch manager positions. A typical work week is a forty-hour, 9 to 5. Some extra hours may be needed at certain times and assistant managers may sometimes need to work hours on certain Saturdays as well.Contact Person - Manikandan HR
