Job Description
Job Objective:The Database Developers role is to design database schemas, all type of database objects like tables, views, stored procedures, functions etc. including maintaining databases while ensuring high levels of data availability. The Database Developer will evaluate and advise on all technology components for database management systems and applications. As part of the role they will be responsible for implementing data dashboards to all levels of the department.
Core Responsibilities:
Design, deploy & maintain data table structures, stored procedures, reports, and queries optimization.
Database configuration, migration & performance monitoring as well as backup & data recovery, blocking and deadlocking issues.
Writing efficient stored procedure for other developers working on the Business Access Layer / Service Layer using T-SQL / PL-SQL scripts.
Involve in early stages of software lifecycle to profile data and to create conceptual, logical & physical data model designs with appropriate structure and relationships for optimal performance
Responsibility ensure the long term reliability, scalability and maintainability of systems.
Configuration and Designing of Reporting Services Reports
Data analytic like Power BI, Tableau
Database partitioning and replication.
Conduct research and make recommendations on database products, services, protocols, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts.
Develop, implement, and maintain change control and testing processes for modifications to databases. Coordinate and work with other technical staff to develop relational databases and secondary databases Identify inefficiencies in current databases and investigate solutions. .
Plan and coordinate data migrations between systems.
Able to handle large database (more than 1 TB)
Ensure all database systems meet business and performance requirements.
Produce ad-hoc queries and develop reports to support business needs.
Creation and maintenance of technical documentation. Development and maintenance of Data Warehouse.
Implementation of data dashboards to display data in various formats.
Writing SQL Jobs, SSIS packages, reporting services, ETL, deploy SQL patches, Data Migration Activity.
SQL index configuration and management. How statistics work, how indexes are stored, how they can be created and managed effectively.
Education:
BE / B. Tech
or
PG in IT / CS or equivalent
Experience:
Minimum 8 years of experience in development of TSQL/PL-SQL programming.
Work experience must span over 2 turn-key projects as a DBD.
Desirable Skills:
Diagnose and resolve database access and performance issues.
Working experience for government clients would be added advantage.Knowledge of Business Intelligence tools.
Experience of querying / data retrieving using multiple database type.
Exposure to database administration jobs.
Scheduling tasks, jobs, data migration.
Certification related to DBD.
