Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
Main goals of the function
- Manage the design team
- Technical expert for the GSE design team
- Focal point for the European Natcos
- Manage the planning, OTD and OQD
Job purpose
The Head of the Tooling Design Office oversees the team of designers. He manages all local topics related to the design activity of GSE. He/She must:
- Manage the designers and related resources
- Analyzes the design requirements, including cost, schedule, quality, safety, and performance
- Support the design team providing design recommendations and instructions
- Coordinate with other stake holders to ensure the good design of GSE
- Know and understand the applicable norms for the job, with special emphasis on CE norms and safety factors
- Identify and track key characteristics and critical items of a design
- Cross check existing designs done internally or by a third party
- Support the Project Managers in quoting
- Supports the designers in the preparation of the design documentation
- Knowledge of tools and techniques used for design
- Understanding of the design process and the possible phases of design
Situation in the organization chart
- The head of Tooling design office is part of the GSE organization, dependent from the Head of Design
- The head of Tooling design office is in close contact with the Local focal points located in Europe
Quality
- The head of Tooling design office will be subject to quality audits that will be managed by the Transnational Quality Manager (TQM)
- The head of Tooling design office will follow the applicable design procedures and contribute in improving them
- The head of Tooling design office will be responsible of the KPIs of his activity
- The head of Tooling design office will participate in the elaboration or improvement of training material if needed
What we ask for:
- At least 10-year experience in a similar position
- Bachelors degree in a technical area (aeronautics, mechanics, )
- Good knowledge and use of CATIA V5
- Analytical thinking
- Good level of English (B1). Other languages (French, Spanish, German) will be valued
- Good personal skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and as a team leader
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment and work on a variety of projects
- Occasional travel to Europe
