Job Description
Responsibilities as Safety Officer:
- Conduct Toolbox Talk on daily basis and maintain proper records.
- Act as a coordinator at all levels of management regarding safety and assist them in reviewing and modifying procedures from time to time.
- Assist in solving safety related problems & making recommendation for improving safety and set up standards to prevent losses/ injury.
- Report verbally and in written format about the accidents/ dangerous events like fire etc. to the management and client and coordinate with client for investigation.
- Investigate nearly missed accidents and prepare accident reports and monitor the project safety.
- Exercise authority to stop work when need arise/ it is necessary and advice on legal requirement affecting safety, maintain all records of HSE required by the client.
- Communicate about safety through leaflets, memo, posters, notices, etc. will arrange and participate in periodic safety inspection of work area.
- Create/ formulate and maintain a check list for inspection of all PPEs, equipments, hand tools, scaffolding before usage and ensure that all critical tools have a valid statutory test certificates and are maintained in good conditions.
- Update safety instruction, training which are arranged by GCE at the end of every month and in addition will ensure that labors at site are using IS marked relevant personal protective equipment & there is good condition on their site activities.
- Act as the emergency contact point and has a list of emergency telephone numbers including key personal.
- Provide firefighting and resource capabilities at time of emergency.
