Job Description


Description Lead Cloud Engineer will be responsible for the administration and support our IT Azure Enterprise Datawarehouse and SQL Server platforms with having a minimum 5-8 years of work experience. A self-motivated individual with a lot of energy and drive to resolve IT and business applications problems and bring improvements while working along with the team of data engineers, BI and Integration developers, and database administrators and various other stakeholders to support operations and projects. Strong willingness to learn newer and diverse technologies. Ability to work on complex, critical IT platform and integrations. A good team player and having good analytical skills. Ability to work independently in shifts in a 24X7 operations and Projects
Administer and manage Azure Platforms for all production/non prod environments
Work on operational tasks and projects for enhancement of the IT platform
Independently perform problem determination and resolution in the production environment and provides production support as needed both during and after normal business hours.
Develop technical architectural understanding of existing and evolving IT landscape
Process adherence of existing process meet agreed SLA/OLA's
Participate in internal and external security audits and ensure environments license complaint
Document projects, enhancements, issues, and processes as they evolve and improve
Troubleshoot and tune existing applications and platforms proactively to maintain high service level standards.
Develops and maintains effective relationships through effective and timely communication.
Promote deployments from lower to higher environments Production/QA/UAT environments on pre-define schedule after CAB approval
Support post refresh deployment tasks (DEV/QA/UAT) from production environment
Develop solutions for continuously monitoring and alerting around uptime and performance.
Monitor metrics and identify ways to improve
Willingness and ability to cross train self and pick up diverse technologies
Evangelize the usage of automation tools/processes
React quickly to feedback to continuously improve the processes.
Research new technologies that will improve efficiency and effectiveness of the existing processes
Participate project design/plan meeting to communicate operational requirements and development forecasts.
Foster collaboration with stakeholders, train/support to other team members with support process
Analyze the current technology and develop plans and processes for improvement and future growth
Perform routine maintenance to ensure production environment runs smoothly
Recommends performance enhancements by performing gap analysis and providing viable alternative solutions
Demonstrate customer first mindset to ensure delivery of quality service to stakeholders
Provide off hour, on call support to support 24X7 operations
Qualifications Extensive experience in IT and SQL Server Database Administration on Windows Platform environment managing SQL Server databases with knowledge of developing reports and packages with SSRS and SSIS.
3+ years of experience in Cloud Administration using technologies such as Azure VM, Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Data warehouse, Azure ADF/Synapse, Data lake/Storage accounts
Relational DB Server Setup/Migration/Management in Azure (SQL Server, MySQL) and Dedicated SQL Pools
Experience in Azure Data Factory and Azure Data Bricks in Azure Cloud Datawarehouse (Synapse) environment
Experience in Setting up and Managing Various database backup services in Azure for Refreshes and DR systems.
Configuration /Setup of Alerts in Azure and develop reports in Log analytics for effective monitoring
Solid experience in Azure Devops, CI/CD, ARM template deployments or any alternative tools such as github/TFS/Jenkins etc. in code deployment methodologies. In design/setting up build, release pipelines integrated with the visual studio etc.
Knowledge in building Network and Subnet on Azure, Security/Firewalls configuration
Working knowledge in using scripting languages like Json, PowerShell, Azure CLI and Batch scripts to manage and automate Azure environments.
