Job Description
The Datacenter Systems Group (DSG) is responsible for architecting, developing and delivering production datacenter boards, systems, management software and solutions.
These products leverage and optimize all possible Intel silicon into fully deployed systems/racks. DSG is a full product business PnL, shipping and supporting production systems to market.
DSG is currently expanding its product line and system offerings and is looking for the right key players to accelerate our market penetration and growth trajectory. DSG is seeking an experienced, resourceful, and driven senior technical program manager.
This individual will be responsible for driving the engineering planning and execution on one or more DSG products.
The DSG PDM (Product Development Manager) is a unique position inside Intel where you are responsible for the development of a full commercial system product ( board / system / rack / software / solution), shipped, sold and supported by DSG to Intel partners, integrators, and customers.
As a PDM, you are responsible for product development planning and guiding the development efforts of internal and external (ODM) engineering teams.
The PDM is accountable for the on-going success of your products from concept, to launch through the end-of-life (EOL).
A successful candidate will have a unique mix of engineering experience, business acumen, and project management skills.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Partner with architecture and product line management during exploration phase to define product requirements
Establishing the plan of record, including budget, schedule, committed features, and other success criteria
Identify risks and work with engineering teams on mitigation plans
Create statements of work for outsourced work Matrix manage internal and external cross functional and cross geo teams during all development phases
Managing outsource design house (ODM) to execute to product schedule and Intel quality standards
Track and report progress across all relevant success criteria to senior management
Bachelors (Masters preferred) degree in engineering or related field
10 years experience in engineering development, engineering management, and/or technical program management
Solid understanding of Intel platform architecture </
