Job Description
Dear Candidates,
An engineering degree in Civil or Mechanical or related discipline; Professional accreditation from renown engineering institution required;
Minimum 8-years experience in international reconstruction-development sectors, with main focus on Oil & Gas projects;
At least 5-years of work experience in key management posts in multi-discipline projects including Oil & Gas.
Computer literacy in engineering software applications highly desirable;
Excellent proficiency in English is required;
Working knowledge of any language spoken in the region(Arabic, Turkish, Kurdish) shall be positively consider
- Report and work under the direct supervision of the Projects Manager.
- Plan and introduce an effective timeline schedule for the project that he will be entitled to implement. He has to prepare a simple data base for all the tasks that the project will require and design a follow up procedure on it.
- He has to provide assistant and advise to the site manager/s on the day today activity implementation within the specified scope of works. The daily follow up is deem necessary to avoid any bottlenecks in the future.
- Liaise and collaborate with the local community representatives and keep the Projects Manager always updated on the developments, always inform him about the visits and the day to day problems he will be facing.
- Provide the necessary guidance and support to the project team including the HSE staff which are working on that specific project.
- Supervise and coordinate always with all the engineers working on site and to provide advises to them in line with the approved engineering documents.
- Develop the required methodology and framework under which each of the engineers has to work and discuss it with the Projects Manager.
- Evaluate the needs on site for materials and coordinate with booth the procurement and the logistics to ensure timely supply of the materials for construction and instruments for supply;
- Hold on site meetings and simple workshops to clear the procedures that each staff has to follow or to update the staff on the work preparation for the activities that has to be implemented under the said project.
- To be aware to the activities that are under the scope of work for the company and to have the approvals from the line managers before the implementation of any extra works without having the VO approved by the management.
- Provide plans for capacity building and technical support to the technical team which are working under his direct supervision;
- Monitor closely the quality of the works and keep in file always all the certificates issued for material testing and third-party inspection. This has to be filed following the company filing system electronically and in hard copy forms;
- Establish key monitoring milestones for the project follow up, performance, budgets ,and quality assurance on delivery;
- Prepare reports on monthly basis for project implementation in the field, weekly reports on the project preparation
- Any other tasks in relation to project implementation that will be assigned by the projects manager.
- Processing payments to the contractors and coordinating it with the contracts administration section.
- Ensure the timely issuance of the project Engineering documents and follow up the process of approval with the client if and where applicable.
- Control the project budget and potential duration and report to the Projects Manger.
- Practical knowledge and in-depth understanding of cultural and community base environment;
- Professionalism, integrity and commitment to project needs;
- Expertise in project planning, project management and mobilization of resources in the Oil & Gas Sector;
- Understanding and sound judgment in multi-cultural work space;
- Versatile capacity to deal in situations of challenging physical environment
- Good communication skill sand ability to negotiate and report on project issues.
- Ability to communicate, motivate, manage and coordinate project related work in a multi- ethnic origin team to deliver quality work and meet tight schedules under stressful environment, and a varied cultural context;
- Capacity to establish priorities ,address project issues and needs of project within the over all focus of the project;
- Demonstrate trust and confidence in team-work and provide timely response to Stakeholders needs;
- Professional knowledge and capacity to manage Oil & Gas related documentation with accurate standards and quality
- Prepare and submit progress report during the weekly meetings with the Projects Manager or at any specific time as requested by his line manager
- The Project Manager shall work under the direct supervision and reports directly to the Projects Manager.
- The Project Manager shall also collaborate with and coordinate on project issues with other Sections through the section heads
