Job Description
The PR Senior Account Executive should be able to take responsibility for delivering all content for at least one client.
Reporting line
Reporting directly to an Account Manager (or Account Director)
Main responsibilities
Maintenance of records of all press coverage
Preparation of campaign evaluation & reporting material for client meetings
Attending client meetings & preparing contact report / minutes & other client materials
The research, writing & distribution of press releases & case studies
(involves speaking to the customers of our clients with a firm understanding of each manufacturers route to market)
Placing features & extended case studies, organizing site visits & client interviews.
Developing engaging & relevant content for Twitter & Facebook accounts
Identifying opportunities for video & developing filming briefs & interview points & conducting interviews on film
Briefing journalists, attending journalist meetings/presentations
Selling in & writing feature articles
Sourcing photographic quotes & preparation of photographic briefs
Attending trade exhibitions/Event organizing
Participation in new business presentations
Providing research to inform pitches & ongoing client work
Attending journalist & client events outside of office hours for relationship building / networking
Key Competencies
- Commercial insight Should have an understanding of each clients business activities, key issues & competitive advantage & be able to identify opportunities to promote the client & their activities based on these platforms.
- Strategic Thinking Should be able to identify additional opportunities for delivering the client message outside the standard press release, case study & feature.
- Creative Thinking Should participate in brainstorming sessions & actively explore different avenues for a client based on a particular brief. Should be able to develop engaging & relevant content for social media feeds.
- Time Management Can manage own workload, set & work to own deadlines.
- Copywriting Demonstrate a true understanding of the clients brief by effectively communicating the key message in simple, concise copy that is relevant to the reader. It is expected that the client will make minimal changes to the copy.
- Presentation Skills Should be articulate & be able to present ideas & proposals to clients, when required. Should be able to communicate with contacts at all levels.
- Trouble Shooting Client should feel confident that any problem is being given due attention & that immediate action is being taken to ensure that the right person (if it cannot be handled by the AE) is fully informed of the situation. The account executive should demonstrate initiative, not necessarily in solving the problem themselves, but in ensuring it is tackled by an appropriate person as soon as is possible.
