Job Description
Principal Consultant Mainframe
In this role you have to co-ordinate and network with multiple partners to optimally deliver critical applications/solutions. You should be able to work in all phases of software development process (SDLC) with primary focus on development, maintenance, and support of various Mainframe applications related to the Capital Markets platform.
Responsibilities
- Participate in architecture & design reviews
- Programming, conduct code reviews, and test software as needed
- Provide L3 production support during Market hours
- Follow project plans and task schedules
- Ownership of application components and ensure timely delivery of the same
- Ensure quality of deliverables
Qualifications we seek in you
Minimum qualifications
- BE/B Tech/ MCA
Preferred qualifications
Hands-on technical experience delivering Mainframe solutions using technologies including COBOL, CICS, DB2, VSAM, JCL, STORED PROCEDURES.
Extensive experience in analysis and design
Excellent programming and debugging skills
Good working knowledge of Relational Databases
Nice to have understanding of CICS Web Services and DB2 Stored
Procedures.
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Excellent collaboration/teamwork skills
Ability to communicate effectively across all levels within Technology,
Business and Operations
Capability to approach problems as challenges and deal with them constructively while promoting this approach to other team members
Development experience within the financial/banking industry strongly preferred
Provide senior-level analytical and coding skills on large and complex on-line and batch mainframe (COBOL-CICS) applications.
Work with customers to define requirements, document requirements, update existing documentation, designing, coding, testing, implementing software changes in an IBM mainframe environment.
Good to have Mainframe Data migration experience.
