Inviting applications for the role of Assistant Manager, IT Configuration Management (CMDB)
In this role, employee should possess good relationship leadership skills with colleagues, seniors & leads
Your role requires decent verbal and written communication capabilities
You will need problem-solving skills and the ability to logically break down a problem into smaller manageable parts to seek.
Employee should be an Individual contributor and a great teammate
Ability to work optimally in virtual, geographically dispersed and cross-cultural environments.
Should have good hold in reporting logics/ process metric from Configuration Management perspective with a good hand in MS Excel based reporting & Power Point.
You need to have an Exposure to Service Modeling CMDB framework & should be proficient with working on ITSM ticketing platform (Remedy / Service Now etc.)
Employee should have Infra CI Discovery knowledge including Cloud & In-house
Proficient in working with different Datasets
You should have experience in configuring the Data precedence rules, CI identification & reconciliation rules along with the respective jobs
Overall purpose of role
The Service Asset & Configuration Management (SACM) Manager is capable for the management and compliance of Asset & Configuration data to support the day-to-day delivery of the BAU processes SACM Team service levels are met, and services are delivered at all times. The key responsibility is to be reliable, repeatable, and accurate data is Stored in the Database (CMDB). In addition, a key responsibility of the role in Operating Model, Roles & Responsibilities and Processes related to SACM are well understood and communicated to the wider Technology group.
Responsibilities
Ensure the capture of complete and accurate configuration information for all infrastructure, applications and services and the accurate representation in the CMDB
Assist the wider community in mitigation of Control Issues that are dependent on the SACM processes or policies as defined
Ensure the SACM team operates according to their defined function, and individual members are allocated the accurate work according to the role they perform
Mentor the agreed Key Performance Indicators and ensure all targets are met relating to delivery
Work with Tools team to ensure Discovery & CMDB are in synchronization
Provide timely updates to management, detailing priorities and progress, against the SACM strategy
Define and implement service improvements where required
Assist the SACM Process Owner in defining and implementing any new processes or procedures, or changes to existing ones
Ensure that the integrity of the CMDB is maintained and coordinated with other key operational processes especially with Incident, Problem and Change Management
Perform Audits w.r.t. Incident & Change Management to identify Unauthorized changes
CI Baseline creation and audit
Conduct periodic trainings to the internal and external partners
Manage and promote use of the SACM Process, Procedures and Technologies including:
CI Availability
CMDB reporting
Data quality monitoring
Duplicate CI remediation
Configuration/Discovery data and Service Mappings
Involve in Testing while system upgrade
Gather reporting requirements and accountable to deliver on ad-hoc basis
Ensure the partner understand and follow all relevant policies and procedures relevant to their function
Establish and maintain relationships with key partners, Service Managers and Tools & Support Teams
Raise any issues to management in a timely manner
Be a transparent leader across the team and Technology Operations
Measure & Track:
CMDB coverage % of new Services & Products
CI relationship compliance for Incidents & Change tickets
Service v/s Product Uptime Reporting (per CI relationship in CMDB)
Blank / Junk / Incorrect CI data within CMDB
Work with the Technology Tracks to ensure that they understand their responsibilities in context of the organization s Configuration Management policy and procedures
Periodically educate Technology Tracks on how to use the relationships in CMDB in order to maintain and manage the Infrastructure more efficiently
Execute the responsibilities of a Configuration Coordinator/Librarian if the volume of changes does not warrant a resource support
Prepare for Configuration Audits to cover both: The infrastructure that is discoverable and not discoverable using the discovery tools
Define and produce the CMDB reports in line with the requirements of the customer
Configuration Management Process Owner/Librarians to expand the scope of CMDB as per the company Management Plan
Define the CMDB Access policy and approve/reject the requests for special access requirements as and when they arrive, in accordance with the access policy
Periodic Process & Tool s Trainings & Assessments for Vertical partners
Directs, prioritizes & schedules audits; ensures that corrective actions identified in Process and/or Database audits are carried out via Audit & Report
Qualifications we seek in you
Minimum qualifications
Bachelors degree in Commerce / Computer Science.
Awareness / exposure of holistic level IT Infrastructure setup
Meaningful experience in core IT Service Management (Incident / Change / Config Mgmt.)
Preferred qualifications
ITIL v3 / v4 Foundation certified
Holding any ITSM platform certification will be preferred
Tech Certifications like MCSE/CCNA/ Cloud (AWS/Azure) would be an added advantage
