As a Senior Software Engineer in MaskTech Systems Team at Micron Technology, you will be responsible for developing custom software applications to facilitate the design and manufacturing of photo masks for use in semiconductor fabrication. Your emphasis will be to apply best known methods to create elegant reusable software. Your responsibilities will include the support of existing applications as well as the development of new software systems involving databases, automation, and data science analysis of large datasets. You will collaborate with other Micron engineers and managers world-wide from groups including Production Engineering, Design, Reticle Manufacturing and Process Integration.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
Design and develop software, scripts, APIs, and web based interactive reporting tools utilized by internal groups, utilizing the following skills:
.Serve as a technical lead that contributes to and helps direct efforts of team members
.Determine root cause for complex software issues and development efficient and practical technical solutions.
.Mentor software engineers to grow skill and knowledge through coaching, advice, and training.
.Demonstrated experience with managing and leading large full-stack software projects.
.Proficient in multiple back-end languages (e.g. Python, Perl, Java)
.Proficient in multiple front-end languages (e.g. HTML/CSS, JavaScript, XML, jQuery)
.Proficiency in SQL databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL) with demonstrated knowledge of large, relational databases and data structures.
.Perform day-to-day operations (includes monitoring and maintenance, problem investigation and resolution, backup creation and maintenance, database optimization and tuning, etc.).
.Experience with Linux command line tools and environment
.Provide Ongoing Support of Software Tools Utilized by Internal Groups:
.Maintain and support current tools for our international MaskTech flow
.Address customer requests for improvements, support, and new tools development
.Build and maintain Developer and User documentation
.Work closely with cross-functional teams and management
Continually acquire new skills (software/hardware) and knowledge:
.Keep abreast of new technology, development tools, and development techniques
.Analyze new tools for advantages over current tool sets
Additional Qualifications:
.Semiconductor industry experience preferred: Mask Tapeout flow, CAD, automation
.Global mindset and experience working with remote teams abroad
.Ability to effectively get along with a wide range of personalities
.Ability to collaborate with blended teams to understand needs and translate them into actionable plans, deliverables, and resource requirements

Education and Experience:
.Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or related course of study.
.10 years of job related experience
.10 years experience as a software engineer
