Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Gather, analyze, and organize source code materials; interpret each functional component to understand the nuts and bolts of our product, and translate complex technical concepts into documentation that is engaging, useful, and easy to understand.
- Implement doc-as-code approach and produce high quality, user-focused documentation that meets a high standard of accuracy and readability
- Work closely with internal teams (R&D, QA, and Product/Project Management) to ensure timely deliverables of product documentation that reflects recent API updates, new and changing product functionality.
- Find out innovative methods for packaging and delivering API documentation.
- Maintain extensive knowledge in the field of technical content for developers
- Obtain superior API and Product knowledge to produce quality content.
- Publish documentation in conformance to corporate style guidelines to ensure consistency in the look and feel of publications.
Requirements
- Demonstrable experience in producing high-quality technical and user documentation for developers and architects.
- Outstanding skills and experience in documenting software APIs for a technical audience
- Ability to read code in programming languages, such as Java, C++, etc. would be an added advantage.
- Ability to grasp extremely complex technical solutions and understand the business context to clearly articulate product benefits to end-users.
- Stay on top of the current trends driving the technical communication industry
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Candidates must possess excellent language and proofreading skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Hands-on experience in working on source control systems (Git and Github), version control systems (SVN), and API documentation tools such as Postman, SoapUI, Swagger, and Markdown.
- Experience working in structured authoring platforms and language (wiki markup/HTML/JSON/DITA) to create and manage technical publications.
- Experience working with automating documentation publishing using tools like Jenkins.
- Familiarity with online content management systems and publishing platforms.
Job Responsibilities
- Collaborate with internal functional teams - Product, Engineering, Sales, Support, and Marketing - to create and maintain top-notch, user-friendly documentation, including user guides, API developer documents, admin guides, installation guides, FAQs, release notes, press releases, and other marketing collaterals.
- Research, brainstorm, build and maintain Information Architecture templates that help authors ensure consistency in the usage of style, voice, and tone across documentation and increase content reusability.
- Explore different mediums & techniques to evaluate the effectiveness of training materials as well as product documentation and improve usability.
