About the Role


This position is within Harman Automotive Division, located in Bangalore, India. In this position you will be part of a global team, you will contribute to the design and development of Driver and Occupant Monitoring System. The ideal candidate will have good analytical skills, knowledge of engineering discipline, and strong understanding of Digital Signal Processing (DSP) with relevant mathematical background.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead the research ,design and develop Radar Signal Processing(RSP) Algorithms for the occupant monitoring platform (OMS) and integrate with components provided by suppliers
  • Develop Matlab/Python Models to assess system. Perform performance and parameter analysis.
  • Perform hands-on integration, debug and evaluate efficacy of DSP algorithms
  • Analyze Radar sensor capabilities and behavior and adapt feature development to capabilities of radar sensor in vehicle cabin.
  • Analyze and optimize of runtime behavior (profiling, memory consumption)
  • Contribute to improvement of development and verification process and infrastructure
  • Support the deployment into the car
  • Understand key technical and performance trade-offs for radar-based signal processing.

What You Need:

  • Bachelor s Degree or higher in Electrical/ Electronic or Computer Science Engineering or similar with strong emphasis on RSP or Sensing
  • 10 + years of experience in software development for real-time embedded software with C or/and C++
  • 4+ years Signal processing experience - Preferable (RSP)
  • Experience in Radar and communication systems, like waveforms and the corresponding signal processing for detection and estimation
  • Experience in Radar Testing , ASPICE, Hands on experience in waveform generator
  • Strong systems background with automotive optical sensors, semiconductors, software, development tools
  • Strong understanding of SW development as it applies to Radar sensor processing
  • Ability to work effectively within a global matrix environment

What is Nice to Have

  • Expertise in model-based feature development for automotive applications
  • Experience in high level algorithmic modeling in Matlab
  • Working knowledge of functional safety (ISO 26262)
  • Process oriented while still innovative, flexible, driven, and motivated
  • Experience in working with globally distributed teams
  • Knowledge of AUTOSAR Adaptive or Classic, MATLAB/Simulink
