SAP MDG FUNCTIONAL CONSULTANT
BACKGROUND:
ABOUT GROUP:
The customer runs SAP ECC6. The scope of Master Data Governance Implementation Project covers only Material master of SAP MM module (Vendor, Services and Customer masters are excluded). There are 250,000 materials codes and the scope includes identification of Duplicates (both within and cross-plant).
The customer plans to maintain the clean material master data using SAP MDG, and also use it as a company-wide Data Governance tool. Implementation of SAP MDG may be done by any third party. However, the customer is seeking advice from the consultant on how to get the cleansed data in SAP MDG friendly format, what should be their MDG Strategy, what are the benefits, what should be the team size, implementation model etc.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Company requires expert level advice and consultation on the following topics
Provide functional and/or technical expertise to plan, analyse, define and support the delivery of future functional and technical capabilities for an application or group of applications. Assist in facilitating impact assessment efforts and in producing and reviewing estimates for client work requests.
Candidate should have at least 3-4 end to end MDG projects experience.
- Managing the data maintenance work stream for Materials, Article, Customers, Vendors and Finance
Liaise with functional team leads and business process owners to define process details
Planning and overseeing all aspects of the MDG delivery
- Interacting with other teams to understand schedule dependencies, resolve cross team issues, and ensure migration milestones are met.
- Interacting offshore team to manage the build of SAP MDG configuration and RICEFW development
Managing status, risks and issues relating to MDG implementation activities
- Sound knowledge in Data modelling, Process modelling
- Good knowledge in Data Replication using SOA Service and ALE / IDoc.
- Good Knowledge in MDG User Interface framework using FOIRI and Floor Plan Manager Framework.
Should be able to design consolidation and replication with multiple SAP and non SAP systems
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
Maintaining data objects that are affected by cleansing exercise. That is, uploading of clean data back to the system (either MDG or ECC), where and how
How to maintain enriched material data (Noun-Modifier Dictionary a.k.a. Class characteristics) along with UNSPSC using SAP MDG.
Advise on best suited deployment scenario of SAP MDG considering the clients conditions
Technical/Functional Skills -MUST HAVE SKILLS Experience in designing, implementing and managing master data governance and master data management initiatives for clients
Demonstrated ability to manage a complex workload, prioritize tasks and use good judgment in providing services based on goals with minimum supervision.
Knowledge about Data Migration, Data profiling and Data Quality and ETL technologies is desirable. Exceptional competence in a variety of data domains within SAP ERP, including financial, material, customer and vendor data
Roles & Responsibilities Gathering business requirements from key stakeholders and translate them to a comprehensive data solution involving the effective data migration efforts required to implement SAP MDG.
Determine the size and scope for implementing SAP MDG, taking into account current data systems, the existing and planned SAP environments, identified client business requirements and objectives.
Responsible for configuration of MDG system, creation of functional specifications and guiding developers in custom developments
