Job Description
- Work in an agile development environment leading multiple teams of software engineers in development and maintenance activities.
- Work with Senior Engineers to develop technical initiatives across our engineering groups that help: Improve our engineering practices; Knowledge sharing; Develop excellent architectural design and build strong relationships.
- Manage and lead strategic projects to holistically improve aspects of SDLC such as quality or performance.
- Actively work alongside Product Management partners to manage and prioritize engineering initiatives, infrastructure changes, maintenance, and new feature requests.
- Proactively provide clear, transparent communication on team progress within the organization via project timelines and risk assessments.
- Mentoring, supporting, and developing our engineers through regular 1:1s, feedback sessions, and career track.
- Working with senior engineers to maintain a constant understanding of the technical challenges and opportunities our team is currently tackling.
- Work with the IT support team to ensure IT software and IT Support is providing the essential support and hitting SLAs.
- Proactively work with management and HR to hire the required candidates and ensure projects and correctly resourced.
- Work with Project Managers and other relevant stakeholders to define tech stack and the contributors for new initiatives.
- Contribute to project/tender proposals to understand the high-level scope and provide resource estimations
- Introduce policies and processes to comply with quality management and information security management
Requirements
- Proven technical leadership.
- Experience as an Engineer, Python, .Net, Java, C#.
- Have developed and delivered complex digital technology solutions.
- Broad experience with modern web/cloud-native technologies, frameworks, and platforms e.g. Java, javascript, RESTful APIs, AWS, Azure
- Proven record in developing and delivering on a software technology strategy
- Knowledge of large scale distributed system architectures
- Appreciation of big data and data engineering
- Knowledge of various databases e.g. MySQL, NoSQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cosmos.
- Established in managing experienced engineers with a demonstrated track record of growing and building highly effective distributed teams
- Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills with an ability to manage competing demands
- Comfortable in a dynamic environment with the ability to adapt to various technologies and situations.
