Responsibilities.
Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions
- Collaborates with team members (Cox FTE s and 3PL teams) to ensure the Data Processing, Event Streaming, API and Analytics environments supports timely data delivery and accurate business decisions.
- Works closely with End-users and internal operations teams to troubleshoot and solve complex technical issues within defined service level agreements.
- Provides excellent customer service in a high volume, fast paced work environment.
- Operate and maintain production Data Processing, Event Streaming, API and Analytics environments to agreed upon service levels.
- Enforce and maintain enterprise standards and best practices to ensure compatibility, scalability, and integration with other data platforms.
- Ensure that data processing pipelines, streaming apps, API s and Analytical models perform within operational bounds on a consistent basis.
- Ensure that user and support manuals, Standard Operating Procedures, design documents, platform support guides and program documentation are relevant and up to date.
- Consistently refine support procedures to improve service restoration quality and timeliness.
- Own, escalate and collaborate on complex problems with developers, system administrators, and product vendors to provide root cause analysis and repair of the problem.
- Triage data processing, event streaming, API issues and skilled to update the code in Spark (Scala, Python), Kafka Streams, Python. HiveQL and HBase/Phoenix.
- Build/upgrade Hadoop, Kafka, Spark platforms in collaboration with Cox leads.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field
- Good experience as a Hadoop/Kafka/Spark platform Administrator
- Good experience with event streaming technologies (Kafka, Spark, Flink, etc.)
- Strong programming skills (Python, Scala)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred
- Hadoop administrator certified from Cloudera/Hortonworks
- Prior experience in a Data Operations role
- Experience working as a platform administrator for Event Streaming technologies
- Experience with agile/scrum methodologies
- Exposure to the ITIL framework
- Prior experience working in onsite-offshore model
