Job Description
We are looking for senior Manager for Process / Manufacturing Engineering
for a reputed Aerospace Manufacturing company
Location: Devanahalli IT Park, Bangalore
Job Description-
This role is tasked to work in close concert with process engineers, fixture design, NC Programming, quality personnel, machine operators, production, and operational personnel. Support operations to increase productivity and optimize process, toolings, machining programs and procedures.
Education-
BE/BTech. ME/MTech in Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering
Work Experience
May require a masters or bachelor's degree with 10 to 15 + years of experience in the relevant area. Familiar with aerospace industry, variety of manufacturing concepts, practices and procedures. Strong knowledge on machining (preferably both cylindrical and structural parts covering exotic and soft metals), surface treatments, assembly, cutting tools, wide variety of machines (multi axis MillTurns, TurnMills, VMCs & HMCs, Grinding, Honing, Super finishing), fixture design, drawing GD & T, international standards & specs, customer specs & standards are required. Good knowledge of Aerospace Standards, Quality Management System, APQP, PPAP, lean practices and Six Sigma tools are must. Perform a variety of tasks, lead and direct the work of others. A wide degree of organizational skills, attention to details, multi skilling and lateral thinking is expected. Ability to trouble shoot technical issues, teamworking capability, ability to develop good relationship with all the stake holders. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills for working with internal and external clients and partners, strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Highly motivated with the ability to focus on details as well as the big picture.
Responsibilities:
- Ensuring technical feasibility, putting up business case for new products to include required resources and infrastructure
- Perform detailed contract review to cover commercial and technical requirements as per customer PO
- Develop and drive APQP phases for process engineering for FAI and industrialization of new products
- Mentor and guide process engineers as necessary to meet new project and improvement project schedules
- Thoroughly check and review work of process engineers, conduct cross functional team review for process, fixture design and NC Programming
- Responsible to plan resources, lead time, identify project risks and mitigation actions
- Liaise closely with cross functions (Customer, Business Development, Fixture designers, NC Programmers, Suppliers, Production, Quality) to ensure timely completion of all New Products Introduction
- Investigate new methods of manufacturing or technology to improve current processes, increase capacity and output and meet long term production goals.
- Develop and initiate cost reduction programs
- Employ critical thinking, logic and reasoning to troubleshoot and solve problems in quality clinic using RRCA tool
- Work in conjunction with Production, Operations and Quality as necessary to understand business priorities
- Develop and review SOPs, work instructions, technical procedures, knowledge base
- Mange engineering changes and configuration items as per QMS
- Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs
- Present New Product Development Cost Vs Budget, develop & drive process to bridge gaps
- Present actual cycle time Vs quoted cycle time, develop & drive process to bridge gaps
- Facilitate all the departments with technical questions, answers and necessary inputs to various stake holders
- Provide internal technical training and technical support services as required
