Job Description

The primary function of the Plant EHS Manager is to champion and promote EHS culture, monitor satisfactory completion of EHS actions, including risk assessments and training.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for full EHS legal compliance at site and support in planning, organizing, controlling, and maintaining a safe and healthy environment for work.

To liaison with Government authorities for statutory compliance related to environment management.

Identify, review & monitor statutory compliance related to EHS through a calendar and tracker.

To maintain a system for recording, reporting, and investigating injuries, accidents and dangerous occurrencesand root cause analysis and implement controls to prevent recurrence.

To develop safety behavior in employees working on shop floor and conduct internal environmental and safety audits by inspecting equipment and machinery for possible unsafe conditions.

Filling all application for statutory approvals&visits to external agencies for the smooth approval.

Responsible for strict adherence to safety rules at site.

Responsible for that risk assessment and hazard studies are conducted for all new and existing processes

Identify and implement the key performance indicators for tracking EHS performance for reporting to Management.

Conduct EHS audits, inspections, meetings and ensure compliance.

Conducting safety committee meetings and management review meeting to enhance participation of staff and workers in safety management.

To ensure the implementation and compliance of work permit system.

Update On-Site Emergency plan and conduct mock drill for up keeping effectiveness of plan.

To suggest the concerned departments for loss prevention practices in view of safety & health of workers.

Develop EHS Opex & capex budget for the site & track the implementation of the same.

Ensure training to each employee, on EHS is given and EHS training calendar is maintained in up-to-date condition.

Ensure timely reporting of Accident/Incident /CAPA tracker and carry out analysis, CAPA etc.

Wastewater treatment activity: Responsibility encompasses the Effluent treatment plant and ensures its safe operations as per the internal standards. Compliance of all parameters as defined by the PCB.

Ensure Medical health check-up for personnel. Printing and Packaging industry MNC.


Exposure to OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001 management systems preferable.

Experience in verticals of Health and Safety like Industrial safety, fleet safety, warehouse Safety.

Ability to work independently in cooperation with diverse functions, external agencies&contractorsin a proactive manner is essential.

Good communication skills should be able to interact with all level of employees across plant. Should be able to develop and deliver EHS related training modules.

  • BE/BTech/M.Sc/Diploma Engineering with one-year full time post diploma in industrial safety, preferably from RLI/CLI.
