Job Description

1. Family history taking (Pedigree) and risk assessment
2. Provide pre-test genetic counseling to evaluate the requirements of the family.
3. Providing pre-test genetic counseling. Educating families and providers about various genetic testing options and facilitating informed decisions about genetic testing.
4. Interpretation of test reports and discussion with clinciak and technical team.
5. Provide post-test genetic counseling and help in understanding the prognosis of the disorder of the affected individual and its implications on the family.
6. Carry out risk assessment for future pregnancies and offer carrier testing options if and when required.
7. Sensitising the healthcare professionals and clinicians about the need and utility of genetic testing and counseling.
8. Offer premarital/preconception genetic counseling to a couple beginning a family.
9. Analyse, correlate, interpret and make genetic testing reports .
