We are currently seeking a Database Administration Specialist to join our team in Bangalore, Karn taka (IN-KA), India (IN).
Provide Tier 1 Production support of databases that belong to multiple accounts in accordance with NTT Data Total Quality Management, SLAs and IT best practices. Provide production database support with specific focus on availability, capacity, performance, security and recoverability. Perform database installation, configuration, tuning, capacity planning, health checks, backups and recovery and change management activities in accordance with documented standards Participate in production support rotation coverage. Provide on-going performance tuning tasks in database environments. Work as member of a DBA team responsible for maintaining database stability as well as providing physical support for vendor/user-maintained applications. Maintain and execute SSIS/SSRS/SSIS packages for database automation and cross network connectivity. Maintain stored procedures and TSQL scripts - Provide support to development teams when they in troubleshooting the entire application stack. Assist IT management with administrative policies and procedures related to technical problem resolution and priority management that relate to system support and maintenance. Recommend changes to database design to improve process throughput and ensure performance. Participate in 24/7 on-call rotations and work different shifts, including night shift.
Education: Bachelor s Degree
Experience: 8 to 10 years of experience administering SQL Server Database Systems in a production environment. Demonstrated proficiency in the installation and administration of SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS and related patching. Experience in database tuning and project support. Experience in database server upgrades and migrations. Experience in troubleshooting database stored procedures. Experience working directly with business stakeholders, end users, as well as technical teams. Has worked independently with little or no direct supervision. Experience with for 24 /7 support needs. Skills: Knows fundamentals of database implementation and maintenance. Knows basic database concepts (including configuration, modeling and security) and understands how to apply these concepts (but needs more experienced direction). Competent to work in more than one phase of database administration (typically documentation and maintenance). Good oral, written and client service skills Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
