DDRoles and Responsibilities:
The Network Engineer assists in the installation and maintenance of network communications. They will configure various network devices and services in existing and new locations. The Network Engineer will be first in line for troubleshooting network issues within established guidelines and escalating to higher levels of support and technology partners as necessary to resolve an issue. Depending on demonstrated skill and aptitude, the engineer I may assist with network architecture design, feasibility and cost studies. Must have a strong knowledge of Internet, computer, routers, switches, firewall, etc.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Performs in the role of Networking SME (Subject Matter Expert) to provide technical expertise to peers, management, other infrastructure teams as well as our Members
- Actively monitors the network health across all sites and identifies and proposes solutions to potential problems/issues before they happen
- Field incoming help requests from Members, Team Members, and monitoring alerts ensuring that the Incident Management System is kept up to date.
- Establishes a healthy network by evaluating network performance issues including availability, utilization, throughput, and latency
- Maintains network performance by performing network monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshooting network problems; escalating problems to vendor
- Identify and solve problems independently and provide consultation and assistance to other members of the Service Delivery, Operations, and Client teams
- Coordinate and partner with the Information Security Team to secure the network, developing network access, monitoring controls and evaluations
- Onsite installation, configuration, and testing of network infrastructure equipment for new site openings and site expansions; configuring and testing normal operations and failover situations
- Effectively test and monitor MACD work to complete the cycle
- Other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management and based on the needs of the business

Additional Skills/Requirements:
- Knowledge of the ITIL framework & philosophies including Incident, Problem, & Change
- Familiar or experience with SD-WAN concepts, technologies, and practices
- Experience with SIP, VoIP, and securing voice traffic across networks
- Experience working with connectivity to cloud infrastructure in AWS, Azure, and Google and colocation facilities.
- Familiar with cloud-based corporate phone services
- Demonstrated ability to learn new concepts and apply them to the business environment.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of Local Area Networking, layer 2 switchings, spanning tree, data security, DNS, IP Routing, HTTP, VPN, and Email Routing
