Job DescriptionDesign, development and validation of the CPU, FPGA based hardware boards. Conducts or participates in multidisciplinary research in the design, development, testing and qualification of CPU/FPGA based platforms and/or electrical components / circuitry and mechanicals. Design efforts includes understanding architecture requirements to come up with design specification, schematic capture, PCB layout review against design guidelines, DFM/DFT requirements, component selection, release of Bill of Materials, support and release of relevant documents and test plans. Ensures products conform to standards and specifications. Develops procedures, analysis and design for computer components, products, and systems. Design efforts also involve working with mechanical team on defining boundary conditions for board design. Responds to customer/client requests or events as they occur. Develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education and judgement. Tool knowledge required for board design - Concept HDL/Orcad for schematics capture, BOM tools, Cadence Allegro for PCB layout reviews. Lab work predominantly at Intel India Bangalore involving power-on, functional, electrical and stress validation, along with circuit/platform debug. Tool knowledge required for board debug and validation - High speed oscilloscopes, FPGA programming and debug tools, current meters, DMM, logic analyzer, soldering station etc. Strong verbal communication and presentation skills. Ability to work independently and some knowledge in Excel Macro and scripting languages such as Perl / Python is an added advantage.
QualificationsShould possess a Bachelor of Engineering or a Master degree of Science/Engineering in the field of Electronics and Communication. Should have 6+ years in the field of Electronics circuit design or hardware system/board design. Skills: 1. Should be able to interact with Signal integrity, CAD, RTL and Mechanical engineers with fundamental knowledge on SI, PCB, SSO, CAD layout and mechanicals involved in PC board designs. 2. Should be able to do and review schematics entries in Concept HDL tool. 3. Should be able to review layout in Allegro CAD tools. 4. Should possess strong presentation and communication skills so as to represent the design teams in various forums. 5. Should have thorough knowledge of FPGA/CPU architecture, PCIe, HSSI, DDR3/4, NVDIMMs, SFP/QSFP, SATA, SAS, USB, SPI etc. 6. Should be well versed in various scripting tools for design correctness checks. 7. Should possess strong board (HW/SW/FW) debug knowledge. 8.Should be able to handle high end scopes, logic analyzer, FPGA programming /debug tools and appropriate tools required for board debug.
