Job Description


The CC Lead Cloud Data Platform will support CC Mgr Platforms & Technology as a Lead with direct reports to enable value from data by deploying and managing data platforms and building trustable data pipelines through operation of enterprise standard and world class cloud platforms.
This position's primary responsibility will be to provide technical expertise and coordinate for day to day deliverables for the team. The chosen candidate will assist in the technical design of large business systems builds applications, interfaces between applications, understands data security, retention, and recovery. The role holder should be able to research technologies independently to recommend appropriate solutions & should contribute to technology-specific best practices & standards contribute to success criteria from design through deployment, including, reliability, cost-effectiveness, performance, data integrity, maintainability and scalability contributes expertise on significant application components, program languages, databases, operating systems, etc., and guides/mentors the team during the build and test phases.
This includes supporting tooling changes, operational optimization, and active monitoring and interventions to improve Key Performance Indicators focused on performance of the DnA Next Gen landscapes. The incumbent will have to work with 3rd party suppliers, Business delivery organizations, ITSO and APD to ensure effective process operation and embedding.
Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to strategic planning for cloud solutions.
  • Design for scalability, performance and no downtime requirements.
  • Manage the implementation and deployment of hardware systems to achieve optimal performance and high availability in Cloud.
  • Ensure achievement of standard SLAs for availability and response time.
  • Ensure effective deployment, monitoring, reporting, security, and life-cycle management solutions services.
  • Oversee the facilitation of technology and skills knowledge transfer within the team and across departments
  • Expertise in at least one programming language e.g SQL, Python or R
  • Knowledge of key features of Cloud Service Providers specifically Azure Cloud.
  • Works in close collaboration with ITSO to ensure that cloud platforms operate consistently and are fit for purpose.
  • Adept in keeping key stakeholders informed when incidents are occuring and following up on problem management issues.
  • Identifies structural improvements that are related to poor performance, gaps, or process anomalies that prevent effective Operations and works with Suppliers and ITSO to remediate as needed.
  • Keep abreast of current state of DnA Next Gen tool offerings in the marketplace, reserving a preference for Market standard SaaS solutions. (Work with Architect).
  • Engage stakeholders to ensure that expectations are managed and that the aims of DnA Next Gen toolset continue to be aligned with business needs and strategies as they evolve.

Dimensions and Special Challenges
  • Maintaining IDA operational excellence during the implementation of the IT Strategic Roadmap and its move to a market based services and Cloud environment.
  • Driving effective process operation and embedding across multiple organizations and suppliers that are likely to have commercial constraints.
  • Gaining and maintaining the trust of virtual stakeholders.
  • There maybe some out of hours work required to solve tooling issues or to rollout new releases.

Experience & Qualifications:
Mandatory:
  • Minimum 12+ years experience in the IT industry out of which 5 years expert understanding and experience in development and troubleshooting various technologies including Azure Cloud and Systems automation.
  • University degree in any IT discipline.
  • Strong understanding of the interdependencies of business processes and information systems
  • You should be able to collaborate well in a (global/remote) team environment, sensitive to stakeholders needs.
  • Experience with AWS cloud/ Azure cloud.
  • Ability to work in team in diverse/ multiple stakeholder environment.
  • Strong verbal/written communication, with ability to effectively interact with individuals at all levels of responsibility and authority.
  • Strong trouble-shooting and organizational skills and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong understanding of IT projects estimation framework and preparation of Plan on a Page (or resource loading).

Preferred:
  • Azure Data Engineering Certification
  • AWS Big Data Analytics Certification
  • Familiar with a range of analysis, modelling and design methods and have good current knowledge of IT standards, methodologies, applications and trends.
  • Experience of working in a new/growing organisation.
  • Sound understanding of the costs of IT (project and 'lifetime') and the ability to cost operational IT services.
