Your primary responsibility is to prepare and release Linux BSP (Yocto, CentOS, Ubuntu, RedHat) to meet platform requirements by following standard opensource development guidelines. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to: - Prepare base project ingredient configuration and provide initial build and incremental updates to include development updates for platform feature completion. - Maintains healthy integration branch at all times during Platform feature enablement. - Demonstrate technical leadership in overall software or Platform software development and integration projects. - Works with respective team to setup continuous integration process for platform and automated build of platform Linux BSP. - Works with respective team to prepare Integration hardware setup to execute integration test suit after each automated Linux BSP build. - Monitor automated builds and attached test suite to take corrective actions in case of failures. - Use software and hardware debugging tools to analyse, root cause and troubleshoot issues. - Follows Software quality release guidelines defined by organization to meet overall platform Linux BSP release criteria. - Implements and maintains upstream capable BSP code base for Platform features. - Initiate regular code reviews with technical manager and act on review comments to ensure good quality code base. - Software development using C, shell script and python scripts. - Prepare the material development such as Platform bring-up guide, software reference manual, release notes etc.
Qualifications
You must possess a B.E./M.E./B.Tech/M.Tech/Ph.D in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Other qualifications include: - At least 10 years of working experience in a Software Development or System Integration or Product Integration deployment experience including a strong knowledge of operating systems architecture with both kernel and user space experience. - Should be able to define integration best practices and roll out BKMs across product families and across geo's. - Should have excellent stake holder management skills. - Should possess strong decision making capabilities and have Customer teams interaction experience - Should have Ability to Plan and execute end to end Integration deliverables intercepting project milestones - Should have handled multiple projects simultaneously using single and multiple product branches using continuous integration model Should be able to provide direction and set goals to the group and drive topics with both internal and external and multi-geo stakeholders - Strong debugging and System Integration skills. Must be capable of troubleshooting Linux BSP. - Strong understanding of OS and kernel system and continuous integration process. - Familiarity with various software development tools such as source control, defect management, static analysis. - Seasoned technical and business acumen. - Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills. - Ability to work well in a diverse team environment and with others in cross-site organizations. - Working knowledge in the software engineering development lifecycle process. - Knowledge of Intel, SPARC, ARM architecture and PC/Embedded systems.Inside this Business Group
