Role: Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP) Specialist
Treasury
Treasury is responsible for the sourcing, management and optimisation of liquidity and capital to deliver high value risk management decisions. This is underpinned by a best-in-class integrated and consistent Treasury risk framework, which enables Treasury to clearly identify the Bank's resource demands, transparently set incentives by allocating resource costs to businesses and manage to evolving regulation.
Treasury is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining an effective Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP) framework. In doing so Treasury needs to ensure that the Bank's risk-taking incentives better align with its risk management and strategic objectives.
Further, Treasury's fiduciary mandate, which encompasses the Bank's funding pools, Asset and liability management (ALM) and fiduciary buffer management, supports businesses in delivering on their strategic targets at global and local level.
The current role is part of the Treasury Office in Mumbai. The position requires interactions with all key hubs i.e., London, New York, Frankfurt, and Singapore.

Function Description:
FTP is an important tool for managing the Bank's balance sheet structure and measuring risk-adjusted profitability. By allocating funding and contingent liquidity risks to business lines, products and activities within the Bank, FTP influences the volume and term of new business and ongoing portfolio composition. If done effectively, FTP promotes more resilient, stable business models.
FTP is an important tool for centralizing the management of funding and contingent liquidity risks for all exposures. Through FTP, the Bank can transfer these risks to a central management function that can take advantage of natural offsets, centralizing hedging activities, and a broader view of the firm.
Role Description:
As an FTP specialist, the candidate will be part of the Asset & Liability Management (ALM) FTP function and is responsible for driving gross funding cost allocations to businesses and legal entities in line with underlying models and FTP curves. You will be closely aligned with the business segments, business finance, technology, risk, and other Treasury functions.
The core deliverables for the roles are:
  • Own the end-to-end global liquidity buffer cost allocation process
  • Identify gaps in processes and partner with relevant stakeholders to drive optimization and remediation efforts
  • Own the design and development of analytics utilized by senior management for financial resource optimization
  • Run and oversee core parts of the Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP) allocations to businesses
  • Break down complex problems through self-guided research. Investigate remediation steps by partnering with different teams (finance reporting, liquidity management, Front office and Finance IT) and drive solutions
  • Enhance governance controls around FTP processes and drive changes to make processes more robust
  • Build tactical and strategic tools for reporting and risk management, internal trade bookings and PnL explanation to support business decision making
  • Involvement in a bank wide, strategic change project with the target to improve the quality of used data

Your skills and experiences
  • Background in PL substantiation/Financial analysis. Ability to probe numbers to suitable materiality levels, to understand and assess potentially complex processes underlying these numbers, to identify gaps and design the required remediation steps.
  • Ability to multi-task and coordinate with Finance and reporting functions, Change the Bank teams and IT. Cooperative yet demanding approach required of our partners.
  • Demonstrate strong problem ownership - autonomy - prioritization and track record in delivering effective solutions to complex financial process problems
  • Transparent and clear communicator
  • Previous experience on FTP topics and familiarity with key FTP/funding allocation concepts is desirable.
  • High attention to detail, well organized and capable of handling multiple objectives and stakeholders, in a fast changing and sometimes chaotic environment
  • Strong Excel skills to be able to manipulate and interpret large volumes of data to form. Knowledge of Tableau and SQL is desirable but not must.
  • Perform in high pressure situation with multiple stakeholders and competing demands
  • Positive energy and attitude to solve problems, figure things out and execute
  • Strong written, verbal communication and presentation skills.
