What you'll bring
  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent work-related experience
  • Expert experience in an OS, database and/or platform operations environment.
  • Experience working within a highly available production environment.
  • Experience with Amazon AWS (EC2, S3, EBS, EIP, VPC).
  • Scripting language experience (eg. Shell, Python, Perl or PowerShell).
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Wavefront, Splunk, BigPanda, AppDynamics, NewRelic etc...
  • Experienced with troubleshooting of infrastructure and applications and knowledge of supporting technologies such as TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, LDAP, SSL and SSH.
  • Strong ability to analyze and solve operational problems across functional components. Strong ability to understand virtual cloud architectures and layered application and database services with the ability to logically determine root cause of an issue.

How you will lead
  • Drive clarity through the complexity of monitoring and troubleshooting applications hosted within Intuit's data centers and the AWS cloud.
  • Establish a solid understanding of Intuit's traffic and routing patterns to troubleshoot the end to end workflow of applications.
  • Drive & Triage of high priority major incidents (P1 & P2 including P3 & P4) and sending the incident communication to the internal stake holders.
  • Monitors service and incident requests and assigns or resolves tickets as appropriate.
  • Respond to customer-impacting incidents, leveraging collective Business Unit partnerships and constructs such as Situation Room or War Room to quickly pinpoint root cause.
  • Respond to any query related to AWS via chat channel within a defined response time SLA.
  • Monitor and investigate anomalies in order to quickly determine the impact.
  • Identify gaps and recommend improvements to the current set of monitoring dashboards and alerts.
  • Provide guidance and template management support for application teams, to easily onboard applications into Monitoring, Logging and Alerting services.
  • Active engagement with the Cloud Operation/Monitoring Team to maintain sufficient knowledge of and a feedback loop for services capabilities and health.
  • Maintain consistent dialog and feedback loop with Intuit Cloud Operation team.
  • As customer advocate, identify, escalate and resolve gaps in the process or technology through interaction with central cross-functional product and service teams.
  • Automate mundane tasks to save time and accuracy.
  • As part of Intuit Operation Center, operate in 12*7 shift model to reduce the MTTD/MTTR and contribute to incident triaging.
  • Create/update of Technical documentation or knowledge article for the team.
  • Generate monthly/weekly metrics to provide analysis on the completed tasks.
  • Leverage internal AI/ML and Data scientist teams to proactively identify issues or predict incidents.
  • Learn and quickly adapt to new technologies.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to drive technical incidents and root cause analysis processes.
