The Boeing Company is currently seeking a high performing Development leader to lead software development in the Engineering Systems team within Information Technology & Data Analytics. The Engineering Systems software Development team provides comprehensive software solutions to rapidly access and visually transform complex engineering and manufacturing product data. Responsibilities include development and integration for a variety of Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) and in house software application supporting our engineering teams. The position will require strong skills in Java and Web development and multiple methods of software integrations including COTS Application Programming Interfaces (API's). The successful candidate will be responsible for following the software development lifecycle to document and develop code primarily on Cameo Enterprise Architecture using JAVA, Micro services and Angular 5+
Good communication skills are needed both verbally and written, to Interact with peers and customers. Software development/support skills include designing, documenting, coding, user training, testing, and maintaining software-computing applications. Job requires the ability to work well with others on a team as well as independently. Job requires working within a diverse team of skilled and motivated co-workers to collaborate on results. Other qualities for this candidate are a positive attitude, self-motivated, the ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
Position Responsibilities:
- Technical development leader is responsible for driving the complex application development by collaborating with team across Boeing sites
- Technically Lead the Development of solutions for a complex Engineering problems within an international team environment
- Interface with Architecture team and be part of architecture definition of Solution & Ensure that application integrates with overall system architecture, utilizing standard IT lifecycle methodologies and tools and standards at all levels
- Understand and Develop software integrations between Enterprise Architecture and existing systems using latest technologies
- Build and implement coding standard for development in alignment with Boeing enterprise coding practices
- Guide Development team to develop design documents based on the functional specification and requirements
- Support in estimating the effort with the help of product management to ensure a smooth development executions as per program plans
- Understand the requirements from Product Owners and decompose for the team and Develop complex requirements
- Review of technical design documents, source code, test plans rigorously to ensure first time quality
- Ensure the development plan is in alignment with overall program deployment strategy
- Work with Line Manager and formulate a skill strategy for development team
- Groom the young developer in the team and crate a technical training plan as and when necessary with the help of line manager
- Perform as a Global Development leader for the IT solution & represent in aircraft program level
- Guide team to achieve the required level of documentation needed from the application development team for certification and Airworthiness process compliance from aviation certification authorities
BasicQualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor's degree or 3 year Diploma with typically 8 to 12 Years related work experience and/or a Master's degree or 3 year Diploma with typically 7 to 11 Year's related work experience or relevant military experience
- Excellent exposure in IT product development in Aerospace/ Automotive domain.
- Excellent communication skills to work in a globally distributed team
- Very in depth development experience in Java Web technology (spring boot framework preferred) and Experience in Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), Web API, SOAP Services and web hosting technologies/tools.
- Rich experience on Maven, gradle, NPM(Node pocket manager)
- Deep Knowledge in JavaScript, Junit ,Robot framework for services
- Wide Experience in web apps using Tomcat, Web logic servers and HTML, Java Script and J2EE technologies.
- Very good knowledge in ALM tools (GitLab, TFS, Clear Case , SVN)
- Exceptional debugging and problem solving skills
- Good experience with the Cameo Enterprise architecture is added advantage
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Experience in Aerospace domain is must
