Job Description
Eaton's Electrical division is currently seeking a Global Accounting Manager to join our team. This position is based at our Crouse-Hinds Headquarter facility in Syracuse, NY.
Position Overview:
Reporting to the Group Controller of Crouse-Hinds, B-Line Oil & Gas Division, the Global Accounting Manager is responsible to drive business performance for a >$1 billion global operation by ensuring that the financial reporting and accounting policies accurately support the business strategic initiatives while mitigating compliance, financial, and operational risks. The position is responsible for:
- Accurate and timely consolidation of 70+ legal entities and 150+ ledgers, while operating in 4 distinct regions (North America, Latin America, Asia Pacific and EMEAI)
- Providing accounting guidance in compliance with corporate policies, US GAAP, IFRS, and local statutes for all legal entities.
- Supporting management of the relationships with External and Internal Audit team on all audits globally.
- Driving Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, including oversight of the team dedicated to a centralized monitoring of controls and processes.
- Managing ad-hoc special projects including but not limited to simplification and enhanced reporting processes

In this role, you will:
- Manage a team of 2 (Senior Accountant & Senior Analyst) and monthly team deliverables, while focusing on career development with direct reports.
- Identify and resolve financial accounting issues. This includes the ability to assess when an issue should be raised to the Global Controller, or to the Sector level.
- Ensure the accurate and timely consolidation and reporting of financial results and position each month end.
- Work with the Global Compliance, FP&A and Operations team to ensure proper accounting for transactions.
- Oversee preparation of quarterly and annual reporting packages to Corporate Eaton Headquarters, which support disclosures within SEC Form 10-Q and 10-K, as well as other governmental reporting.
- Monitor fixed asset accounting process. Present real-time analysis and summaries directly to Senior Management within Crouse-Hinds. Guide the management of less senior members of the team to accomplish these functions.
- Review and monitor that Corporate intercompany issues are identified and resolved timely.
- Implement and monitor controls, process improvement, and procedure development and enforcement on an ongoing basis.
- Review and monitor that account reconciliations are completed accurately and in a timely manner for the Group
- Assist with annual physical inventory counts and cost roll procedures, as needed.
- Participate in LSS green belt projects, as needed.
- Manage the implementation of simplification processes.
- Complete ad hoc accounting assignments as requested, often complex and confidential in nature.

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Accounting, Finance, Business and/or Economics
- Minimum of one (1) year of manager of people experience
- Minimum of five (5) years of accounting and/or finance experience
- Must be able to work in the United States without Company sponsorship now or in the future
Position Success Criteria:
- Self-Starter & Detail-oriented
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle multiple priorities against multiple deadlines
- Ability to lead people within the group and across multiple functions
- Ability to communicate and present to senior level and executive management
- Ability to identify and implement standard work procedures and best practices
- Strong understanding of financial statements, COSO framework, and application of generally accepted accounting principles
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA
- MBA from an accredited institution
- Plant Controller experience in manufacturing company
- Experience with SAP, ORACLE, Business Warehouse, Hyperion Enterprise, Hyperion Financial Manager (HFM)
- Experience within a multi-national organization
- 3 year's of manage of people experience
