Responsibilities:
This position is to support and develop in house, AWS hosted, development initiatives, which involves/includes:
- Software development with strong knowledge of Javascript (ECMA Script 6), Typescript, Python, Principles of Object Oriented Programming, familiarity with functional programming concepts.
- Familiarity with other standard C based languages (such as C++, Java)
- Familiarity with bash terminal, Linux, and AWS CLI
- Ability to set up a server for an application or standalone API
- AWS Services (EC2, Cognito, RDS, S3, Lambda, etc)
- Microsoft SQL Server (SSMS, SSIS, SSRS)
- Agile methodology
- Data Lake development for reporting, analytics and machine learning purposes
- Become an agent of change and use your creativity and skills to implement new technology and skills
- The Digital Solutions Cloud Developer will work with a group of highly motivated and experienced technologists who have spent the past year working hard to implement innovative tools to the C&F Surplus & Specialty Organization for quick and scalable business solutions.
Individuals that would best match our needs should have:
- A passion for learning
- Experience with Amazon Web Services (Certification a plus, not required)
- An ability to use Google and on-line training to obtain new skills quickly
- Great communication skills
- Fair and friendly approach
- Good understanding of the SDLC process (how software is built!)
- You need to demonstrate leadership qualities
- An ability to present to all levels of audience
- Troubleshooting, Client Support
- A passion for a dynamic, fast changing environment
- An enthusiastic and positive attitude
- An innovative, entrepreneurial spirit
- Experience working with external vendors
- Ability to take ownership and see tasks through to completion
- Will abide by departmental policies and procedures, including authority levels, to comply with C&Fs management controls.
- Two years cloud development experience in AWS
- In-depth knowledge of one or more of these programming languages: Java, C#/.NET, Python, and JavaScript
- Working knowledge of core AWS services and public cloud implementation
- Strong SQL background
- Familiarity with Hadoop, Parquet, Hive, Spark
- Familiarity with Linux, Bash, and AMS CLI
