Department Overview

Enterprise Financial Reportingis a functional area within the Corporate Controller's division responsible for delivering timely, accurate, and complete external financial reporting. This includes but is not limited to US Regulatory Filings (SEC, FRB, OCC, FDIC) and standalone legal entity reporting.
Strategic Initiatives supports many of the EFR Controllership initiatives including key projects, risk identification and remediation, data provisioning, governance and testing, among others.
About the Role

The Automated Regulatory Reporting Team is a newly created team within EFR/SI with the responsibility to drive quality, execute effectiveness initiatives, and ensure that strategic initiatives relating to the development of an automated regulatory reporting function are successfully implemented.
This position will be responsible for reporting transformation efforts within the Enterprise Financial Reporting Change Management team responsible for the development of a system and reporting logic to produce accurate production of significant regulatory reports such as FRY-9C, all supporting schedules, FR Y-14M, FFIEC 031/041, among many other reports. Additionally, a successful candidate will need to partner with other functions throughout the firm (operations, technology, controllers, etc.) to accomplish strategic initiatives. Candidates would be responsible for the accurate assessment and mapping of data elements to regulatory reports along with documentation of policy decisions and coordinating with support partners within the business and other corporate functions
Responsibilities
  • Develop understanding of OFSAA physical data model and configuration logic in relation to U.S. regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Facilitate detailed alignment of regulatory data elements (RDEs) identified through report deconstruction to physical data elements (PDEs) and reporting logic in OFSAA to ensure accurate regulatory reporting.
  • Support data mapping teams (loans, deposits, securities, derivatives, etc.) inquiries by providing regulatory reporting and complex financial instrument subject matter expertise.
  • Perform data profiling to determine whether data is fit for purpose, including alignment of RDE/ PDE definitions, transformation & default logic, data quality rules and analytical review.
  • Execute OFSAA configuration logic review to ensure logic is aligned with regulatory report instructions, including the development of scenario data sets and expected values for regulatory report scenario-based testing.
  • Manage defects identified through various testing initiatives (including prioritization analysis) via JIRA and other Agile issue management tools and ensure OFSAA vendor timely delivery of resolutions for identified defects.
  • Understand the implementation needs and data requirements resulting from regulatory report instruction updates.
  • Perform periodic maintenance of Data Requirements
    database including updates for regulatory form instructions, RDE and PDE alignment, internal regulatory policy, product mapping and refresh of critical data element (CDE) population.
  • Strengthen collaborative partnerships with internal and external stakeholders of external financial reporting function.
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects that require broad subject matter expertise.

Market Skills and Certifications
Essential Qualifications
  • Financial Services industry business and financial products (loans, deposits, securities, derivatives, etc.)
  • U.S. Bank Regulatory Reporting at the line-item level across various regulatory reports
  • B.SC/B.Tech/BA/MBA degree or higher preferred with up to 7 to 10 years of experience in one or a combination
  • Application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • PL / SQL or Advanced SQL (advantage to have VBA and automation skills)
  • Understanding of data ware housing / database architecture concepts
  • OFSAA - FSDF / framework knowledge - Understand HML document & Backtracking to data requirements
  • Testing tools & Methodologies- JIRA & Agile
  • Strong analytical and debugging skills
  • Ability to synthe complex analytical findings into clear and concise communications
  • Working cross-functionally in a fast paced environment managing multiple priorities
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint
