Warm Greetings!
We are looking for Project Engineering Manager (Tendering) Domestic for a reputed MNC Company based at Chennai.
Objective / Purpose
As a Project Engineering Manager, the person shall ensure that the proposal / pre-bid engineering activities of the project takes place within stipulated time (w.r.t. both quality & cost). She / He shall ensure the adherence to Tender schedule. She / He shall work on optimizations / alternate proposals / solutions for quick delivery of the proposal support to tendered project with a positive margin.
She / He shall ensure inter-discipline coordination (Electrical, Civil& Structural, MEP & SCADA) & shall perform inter department coordination (SCM / BD&P/ Other supporting design department like substation / transmission line). Also The PEM shall perform work allocation and proper man-hours utilization and monthly invoicing of design fee.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with Business Development & Proposal (BD&P) team and ensure document deliveries are aligned to Bid Schedule.
- Conduct regular Bid project review meetings (Inter department & Inter discipline) and ensure adherence to schedule with accuracy in estimation.
- Conduct internal review meetings for document deliveries, resource optimization, cost optimization idea to improve win ratio.
- Review of designs, calculations & drawings and ensure bid document submission.
- Shall be capable of Multitasking and deliver multiple things on time.
- Adherence to Tender Process & activities. Implementation & streamlining of new process to improve on tender deliverables.
- Review the estimated Bill of Materials (BOM) and ensure its accuracy ahead of submission to BD&P team for further costing.
- Review critical issues and procedural delays w.r.t. design aspects of equipment and extend support to BD&P teams.
- Continuously perform vendor interaction for new technologies & possible implementation with readiness in future tenders.
- Responsibility of Tender project deliverables & handover of same to detail design for execution.
- Preparation of Service Level Agreement (SLA) & obtaining acceptance from BD&P / other internal customers within the organization & managing man-hour consumption to ensure profitability of Design Department.
Technical Expertise:
- Knowledge about Land based Solar power plants from 50MW to 2GW for Utilities including combined plants with Wind / Solar and Storage systems, Floating Solar power plants of varying sizes, Possible expansion to Green Hydrogen / Storage / H2 Fuel Cell & adaptation of technologies in future.
- Knowledge in Fixed Tilt technology, tracker tech (Single row / multiple row / Dual axis), Seasonal Tilt, Poly-crystalline models, Thin film solar modules, bifacial solar modules. Central Inverter & String inverters.
- Knowledge about voltage conversion & stepping up. Familiarity with Solar Power generation & Storage.
- Knowledge on Substations, transmission line and grid connectivity norms associated with renewable integration.
- Knowledge on other disciplines like Civil & Structural, MEP, Module Cleaning System, Instrumentation (SCADA, SAS), to check the competitiveness of the estimated BOM, will be an added advantage.
- The PEM Proposal is required to understand and interpret the contractual technical requirements and facilitate the BD&P teams as and when required. The PEM shall have good interviewing skills.

Externally: Customers (Engineering team, Contracts Team), Vendors (Sales & Engineering team)
