Sr. DSP SW Engineer - Bengaluru/Bangalore @ HARMAN

About the Role

The Senior Engineer, DSP Software will be responsible for supporting all aspects of software and function development following the defined development lifecycle processes to build scalable and efficient platform products. The engineer must be capable of analyzing specifications, developing software architecture, integrating components into vehicle software, and validating vehicle software to verify functionality.

Your Team

This position will not have any direct reports, but will act as a peer-mentor to colleagues. What You Will Do

• Work with internal platform cross functional (software, hardware, mechanical, acoustics, and validation) teams to design and deliver audio products per customer requirements.
• Design complex amplifier signal flows per customer requirements.
• Develop detailed software requirements.
• Design software components using UML based modeling tools.
• Identify software optimization opportunities.
• Develop and test software components.
• Work with internal and external software suppliers to develop and integrate new features and products.
• Participate in technical discussions with the customer, internal, and external suppliers.
• Support customer in-vehicle integration, tuning, and test events.
• Support the build of prototype technologies into development and demonstration vehicles resolving issues in system, function, and software levels.
• Support customer technology reviews and vehicle demonstrations include the responsibility of preparing and presenting vehicle and technical product details.

• Support the development process and associated work products to ensure ASPICE compliance.
• Other duties as assigned.

What You Need

• Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 8+ years of microcontroller embedded software development.
• 5+ year of experience with DSP software development.
• Experience developing and debugging software in a real-time, embedded, multiprocessor, multi-interface environment.
• Experience with audio processing.
• Working knowledge of software development tools (debuggers, emulators, compilers, static analysis, etc).
• Ability to read schematics and debug analog and digital hardware.
• Experience with object-oriented design and development methodologies.
• Ability to use oscilloscope and logic analyzer for troubleshooting.
• Working knowledge of embedded operating systems.
• Working knowledge of software development processes and process models such as CMMI or ASPICE.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Experience developing with embedded C/C++.
• Exemplary verbal and written communication skills.

What is Nice to Have

• Masters Degree in in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experienced working with vehicle networking (CAN, MOST, etc.) and diagnostics (UDS, KWP2000).
• Experience developing scalable embedded software products.
