What You Can Expect
The IDS Data Science team is looking for a Data Associate to join its growing team. A successful candidate will have the opportunity to work hands-on with a wide range of alternative data sets and participate in the end-to-end delivery of investment projects - from data exploration to the extraction of novel investment insights.
The candidate will work alongside our top tier professionals, including data scientists, data engineers, and data strategists, to incorporate machine learning into J.P. Morgan Asset Management. Your responsibilities may include:
- Ingesting and preparing data for analysis
- Developing an understanding of a variety of cutting-edge, alternative datasets
- Extracting insights or systematic signals for use in downstream investment processes
- Developing visualization tools to help the business mine data insights for investment purpose
About You
We're looking for problem-solvers with a passion for developing innovative solutions!
Qualifications
- Graduate degree in computer science, statistics, or other quantitative fields
- Fluency in Python experience in coding a large scale development project is a must
- Familiarity with analytical packages such as Numpy, Pandas, Tensorflow/PyTorch
- Good understanding of databases technologies for both SQL and null-SQL
- Basic understanding of AWS
- Familiarity with development tools such as Linux, Git, etc.
- Strong interest in Data Science and Machine Learning
- Understanding of financial markets preferred
- Experience in visualization tool such as Tableau is a plus
- Participation in Kaggle competition or equivalent is a plus
- Team-player who can also work independently
- Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
