We are the Amazon Physical Stores Technical Operations team, responsible for launching and operating the commerce software services which run stores like Amazon Go, Amazon Books, Amazon 4-star, and Amazon Pop-Up. Amazon Go, with its 'Just Walk Out' technology is already a game-changer for retail, and we're just getting started.

You will be challenged to invent, create and solve challenging problems as well as wear many hats and collaborate in an environment that's more startup than big company. You will need a strong ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues.
We are looking for a Support Engineering Manager to lead a team of talented support/system/system development engineers in supporting, building and maintaining the technology in our Physical Stores! You will be challenged to invent, create and solve challenging problems and mitigate risk, always ensuring a Customer Obsessed experience has occurred. Your team will be working on hardware, software, and network infrastructure with a direct impact on the customer experience. Responsibilities include direct management of support engineers, sys dev engineers, process and operational improvements, project management, coordination of resources across teams and acting as an escalation point for both internal and external customers.
Successful candidates will be strong leaders who can prioritize well, communicate clearly, and have a consistent track record of developing engineers and teams that deliver results. You will be part of the operations engineering leadership team and interact with hardware, software, and infrastructure engineering teams to raise the bar for Security, Automation, DevOps patterns, and operational excellence.

You will lead your teams to deliver consistent, well-defined results in an agile systems development workflow. To succeed in this role, you should be incredibly customer focused and a strong command of one or more programming languages. You must enjoy collaborating with teams across the company and take pleasure from delighting customers.
Your responsibilities will include:
. Lead automation efforts for a team advancing a service ownership culture.
. Embrace the AWS ecosystem and drive innovation on top of it
. Instill a culture that drives DevOps, hold a high-quality bar with code reviews, drive automation efforts to empower, and remove barriers for your team
. Maintain current technical knowledge to support rapidly changing technology, always on a look out for new technologies and work with management and development team in bringing new technologies.
. Provides detailed reviews of in-store technology disruptions, metrics and detailed planning.
. Complete analysis and present periodic reviews of operational performance.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
. BS/MS in Computer Science/Engineering or related disciplines
. 10+ years of experience leading systems, networking, and support development efforts
. 5+ years of direct people management responsibilities.
. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (in person and via documentation/email) with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences.
. You must be able to work with a minimum of technical supervision and supplemental engineering support, while responding efficiently to multiple program priorities.
. Deep understanding of infrastructure automation delivered through the software development lifecycle - including agile development, software architecture/patterns, and modern cloud services.
. Architect, design, implement, support, and evaluate tools and services with a security, scalability, and performance mindset
. Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
. Experience managing multiple concurrent programs and projects in an Agile environment.
. Hands on experience in one of the technical domains hardware, software, networking.
. Experience leading teams that are a part of international organizations.
